XBL Policy Enforcement - What a Joke

I’m a little curious to see if anyone else has shared this issue in the past:

The other night (or I guess it would have been morning) around 3 or 4 AM, I was in a pre-game lobby for NHL 17. For those of you who aren’t hockey fans or have never played the game, the pre-game lobby is full when there are 6 players per side and the game
starts when the timer, initially set at 1:30, ticks down to zero to allow players to choose their positions and player builds.

There was someone in the lobby who was complaining that other players in the previous lobby had quit before the game started, making the teams uneven and that he couldn’t get a game going because people were leaving before the game started. My wife was a
bit under the weather at the time and she had just texted me asking for help from the other room (I think she needed some of her medication from the kitchen). Because I care more about my wife’s well being, I quit the game with about 3 seconds left on the
    clock (BEFORE THE GAME STARTED).

2 hours later, I get an e-mail with a notice of disciplinary action. So I guess someone was STILL upset that I had quit out of the full lobby and reported me.

So I guess the Xbox way is to suspend accounts on the grounds that someone is unhappy with me quitting early (which, if I’m not mistaken, is not against policy and is only grounds for negative feedback in-game).

I was not contacted for my side of the story and I was not warned. This is how we do it for a first time offender? Is this person paying Microsoft more money than I am? I’ve have an Xbox Live account for a decade so I know I’ve spent my fair share of greenbacks on
this service. I think I deserve a cut. What’s even better, is that there is absolutely no way to contact these people! They’re 100% ghost. Which is understandable I suppose considering this is how they run their servers. They wouldn’t be able to get through
all of the E-mails. Their system is an absolute joke.

    I digress.

If you’ve had this problem, I want to hear about it. And if this is how XBL handles first time offenses for everyone, then I’m trading in for a PS4 and giving Sony and the PS4 network a chance to do something that actually makes sense for once because I’m
    not seeing it with Microsoft.

    :)

Someone banned my account thats not from your team.

The only people who can ban players on XBL are the XBL Policy Enforcement Team. No one else can do that.

The enforcement team do not use the forums but you can contact them by filing for a case review by following the instructions here

Any report filed against you has to be investigated which takes time. You would of been suspended for something that happened weeks ago or even longer & you would not be suspended for quitting a lobby in a game.

The code of conduct you agree to when you start your account is your warning & the length of a suspension is based on the severity of the offence & whether you have had any enforcement action on your account before. The length of time you've been xbox live
or how much you've spent has no bearing it at all.

The rules are pretty much the same over on PSN.

Hope that's answered some of your questions, like I said, file for a case review if you are eligible.

    How does it suck?

It's a simple set of rules that aren't difficult to follow at all.
