XBL Points converted to cash expire in a few weeks????

I won't go off on a rant about how dirty that is however I would like to know if it's possible to use it on games with disks or accessories? How am I supposed to use up all the cash sitting in my account when it's the slowest year for gaming ever and I
already have all the games I like to play.

If anyone has success spending it other than digital downloads please share, thanks )

ms points , purchased with cash/card and free ms points

according to xbox helper , points were converted into currency and an expiry date was then put on all balances. due to expire june first 2015 .... however having said that ,if you go and buy a new cash card ( same as the old points cards) then that balance
will not expire ... but be honest can we trust them ? when i bought my points i was assured they would not expire ...yet here we are

I am pretty sure that when the public update comes out he will be able to purchase again with real currency and his points that got converted in money will be there.

Sorry you're upset. However, according to the FAQ of the MS Points Retirement the MS Points that were converted would always be slated to retire.

You cannot use the amount on discs or accessories but you can purchase digital content on the console using the money you have. If you're interested in Forza why not place a preorder for the game or DLC.

The pre-paid Microsoft Point cards will be phased out over the next few months, to be replaced by pre-paid cash amount cards. If you enter any MS Point code in that time, it will just convert the points to the equivalent cash

it might not be that the card linked to your gold renewal is expired but that you have no cash in that account as i discovered ...... my card isnt expired but i only put cash in that account when my xbl gold runs out or is due to run out but yeah buying
via points will work every time as it still allows you to buy MS points from the second card

If he is not part of the beta, that means that his account was downloaded onto a console that was a part of the beta. Because of the conversion of points to cash, he will only be able to purchase content from a console that has the beta. Since the beta is
closed, there is no way around this conversion on the current console, and there is no way to reverse the conversion. So, whatever console he downloaded his account to that has the beta is where he needs to go back to in order to purchase any content.
