Hello. I couldn't connect to XBL this Christmas. I wanted to buy a week of Gold, but i couldn't access XBL so i didnt buy it. Anyway. I heard that you are giving free games and stuff for Christmas? Where can i get a code for a free game?

XBL Service Alert

Today i couldn't get connect to XBL because it said my wifi was bad. Then, when i tested my wifi... it said service alerts. WHAT HAPPENED?

I'm not sure who told you Microsoft was giving free games for Christmas but that is untrue. However, they do have a Games with Gold program available that offers two free games per month to people who have a Gold membership. Currently the free game with
gold is SSX. In January the two free games will be MX vs ATV from the 1st to the 15th and The Witcher 2 from the 16th to the end of the month.

Sorry a trial membership will not get you one of the free games. You'll need to purchase a full membership to do so. They can be purchased in 1, 3 or 12 month packages.

I very much doubt Xbox LIVE will be hacked. As to the future console itself... if someone wants to mod it, I couldn't care less, as long as the console is banned if/ when it connects to XBL.

I am having the same problem, although as a bonus I couldn't connect in the first place, my test connection worked perfectly but it wouldn't sign me into xbl. So I tried to recover my profile to see if that would work and boom! This.

My friend and I just had this problem a couple of minutes ago. It seems to maybe, possibly be ok now, but basically we couldn't connect to XBL, but we could get on the internet on our computers.

When I ran the Test Connection it said it could not find the IP Address, so I did the Reset to Factory Defaults deal, and then Test connection [After turning the 360 off then on] and it connected [Note that when I turned on my 360 it didn't connect to XBL
until I did Test Connection] I watched some Netflix then netflix started giving me a Error R3115 or something. So I stopped using it and turned off the 360, hour later I turned it back on and it didn't Sign into XBL, hit Sign in and it said "Cannot Connect"
So I can Test connection and it couldn't connect to Network, I tried it again and it connected all the way to XBL.

XBL couldn't connect.
