XBL Communications is Flawed (somewhat)

If its life threatening contact xbox support or the police. You should learn handle this behavour as it is on luve tho the majority of peps r fine even some if my friends are a bit racist sometimes but generally I am not. Usually you could blame it on puberty
immaturity or background. Some of my friends have parents who have split up. Even my parents seperated. Mist of my friends I have are good tho on xbox.

 

I fail to understand how my attempt at starting a good discussion about flaws in the communication features of the XB1 suddenly turns into my "apparent inability" to handle a particular situation with an unscrupulous individual (which is only a matter of
perspective)...

Many of you have, at most, twisted and contorted this topic until it's barely recognizeable or, at the very least, have somewhat missed the main point of my thread. Rather than come up with ideas on how we can approach a solution to this particular issue
that many of us have agreed does at the very least exist and answer my many questions posed in the very 1st post, you'd rather comment about my story that was only meant to lead up to the main point... *SMH*

I know many of you hold a grudge against me for various reasons, but that's no reason to twist the topic and ignore solutions to a problem that I've brought to light. I virtually guarantee you that if anybody else had voiced this very issue, they would not
have had the same backlash that I'm getting now.

So, do me a favor will you?

I seriously question just how many of you may have actually read past the 1st paragraph or 2 in my initial post...

 

My take? When I mute someone, I shouldn't hear them. Don't particularly care if they can hear me or not.

I see no issue with kinet. If someone's iritating. Mute them. Leave the party or good old fashion tell them to shut up.

Not gonna lie gg sometimes in party chat you dont let people get a word in edgeways. And as you use the kinect we hear everything (not going to go into detail) ive muted you before now just for a few minutes to give my ears a rest. But I wouldnt report you.

 

If I mute someone long as I cant hear them job done. Not bothered if they can hear me. If your going to run someone down or slag them off then dont be upset if they can hear you. If you wouldnt say it to them you shouldnt be saying it at all. Likewise
if your not discussing the person who is muted and just carrying on with general banter what does it matter if they can hear you or not?

 

If I mute someone I would expect it to mute both ways, there are times when its important its works both ways, mainly down to having a laugh in lobbies etc, so I would like any extra option, because if it says mute, effectively thats what its done.

I think more ppl should be reported and block, not being there its impossible to know what was said and how it was said, so I can't comment on that.

 

Regarding the ability to mute people while in party chat, the options for that, IMO, seem to be stuck somewhere in the middle. On the Xbox 360, you have the ability to mute someone and it works both ways. However, on the Xbox One, you have the ability to
mute yourself so you can still hear everyone else or you can mute everyone else so you can't hear them. On the Xbox One in both cases, unfortunately it is only one way. Although both options are useful for their own reasons, there is still no option to mute
a particular individual through the party chat menu itself - to do so, you have to bring up their profile and select mute in chat. IMO, they need to either A) make it simpler and only allow us to mute individuals just like on the 360 (e.g. it mutes both ways)
or B) add the additional option of being able to do the same in the party menu itself.

So, I would prefer having:

Opt. A) Mute (insert GT here) ONLY.

OR

Opt. B) Mute (insert GT here) AND Mute Me AND Mute Party.

Option A just keeps things simple while Option B gives you more options of how you can handle a particular situation.

To simplify things on this particular topic, of these 2 choices (A and B), which would you prefer and why?

 

I think there should be 3 options

X = represended GT

Disable Chat to X

Disable Chat From X

Disable Total Chat with X

same options with party.

I think it would work great that way, Davey. It gives you a bevy of options and works for both individuals and/or the entire party.

Simply have the options you listed above:

disable chat to

disable chat from

disable chat to and from

Once you select the option you want, a drop-down menu could show the names of everyone in the party as well as an option for all/everyone. It could be that quick, easy, all-around intuitive, and still give you every possible option.
