XBL auto-renewal with an expired CC

So I had thought I had turned my auto-renewal option off ages ago, but I'm starting to think it turned itself back on when I was going through my Xbox One setup last year. Anyway, I got a confirmation that my Gold Account was renewed for 12mo. I go to check
my accounts to see what had happened and notice that, in fact, it was renewed with an expired credit card of mine.

I am aware that my account will be temporarily banned until payment is received. I have a 12mo renewal code right here on hand, but I would like to get this sorted out in a way that cancels that invalid payment, so my code isn't just entered and lost because
of w/e ongoing errors due to the auto-renewal.

Does anyone know exactly where I can go/contact to have them terminate that renewal, so I don't have to wait for them to figure out that the card is expired, send me notifications, etc etc etc?

Need explanation for auto-renew the gold membership.

Hello all.

I turned off the auto-renew around September 2012. My CC details on the account is also expired (05/12).

And this morning, I have received a bill regarding that I got charged for XBL Gold membership 1 year (59.99Euro)

So, I went to the XBL page and check my details.

Auto-renew is turned on and my CC detail is still expired.

My question is how can they charge me when my CC detail is already expired?

And why my auto-renew option will be "on" again?

I want to contact to the MS but phone ringing is not an option for me.

I can provide more details if request.

I still have confirmation code that MS text me in September 2012.

Automatic Renewal...Again

They suspended my gold access (which is fine), because I thought auto-renewal turned OFF actually worked when I bought XBL for a year. So now I need to pay $60 or go on without seeing anyone on my friends list. They tried to charge my 6 month expired CC
60 bucks, even though I turned it off. Way to go you f'ing a-holes. No way in hell I'm paying that..

 

Microsoft has just contacted me to inform me that my expired CC is, in fact, expired. Informing me to "Please update your CC information or change payment options for this subscription today to avoid any interruptions in service."

In other words, "Fix this today (12/27/14), and there will be no issues with your XBL account."

I'm 99% sure Microsoft I still super picky about having a CC attached to my account, but I'd really like to just use my code. And I'm not 100% if my code will override the expired CC now or not because I think Microsoft wants it's $60 it tried to bill from
my expired CC.

Contact Phone Support before the new subscription would have come into effect and they should be able to help you remove the credit card:

support.xbox.com/contact-us

Otherwise, as you say, they will want the amount they tried billing paid in order to restore your account to good standing.

I'm going to give them a call later. I went ahead and added a non-expired CC to my payment options and tried to remove the expired one, as they have recommended in other FAQ/Help sections on the site. And now I'm getting some error about how that card is
in a pending transaction and so on -I THINK it'll try the other CC in my payment methods menu (which will take) and it'll remove that pending transaction and I'll be able to finally remove it and all will be well...and bonus 12mo renewal card to extend my
XBL subscription.

But I still need to call to let them know I did all of that, or if they can just process it now and save me the headache of dealing with this tomorrow.

 

Yep, definitely best to call them and see if there's anything else they need for it to work like you intend.
