There will always be Pre-Paid codes available at your local store or through online retailers. (which will typically save you money, 1 year xbl is $45 on Amazon)

Every time they is a special deal or an limited edition product it is always US only. So annoying the Titanfall controller is US only too my gamestop is trying to get some in but it doesn't seem likely.

Are the Gold codes region locked?

It's an online code so I would assume you can buy it from the US Amazon site no matter where you live. I ordered pint glasses from the UK Amazon site and I live in the US ( we have wimpy beer glasses here ).

I bought one yesterday. Great deal. I get a similar deal every year. I only paid full price once because of the auto-renewal, which seems to be almost impossible to shut off. How is this done? Anyone?

 

I always renew at this time of year for the discounts. The only reliable way that I've found to turn off auto-renew is to call support and argue with the guy from India that doesn't want you to turn it off.

OMG ty so much I have to buy 3 gold's now that family plan is gone. This helps a ton. Oh and you can turn off auto renew at Xbox.com under your account.

I just read the reviews and apparently it's not region locked people from other countries can get it to activate. I didn't even see the US only thing in big bold letters when I purchased mine ;p

Two options I guess.....make an account with a US address or make friends with people who live in the US and have them buy you one.

[/quote] Ah yeah I would by from Amazon UK but I have a website were I get cheap year subscriptions every year for €33 so that's all good. Fairly bummed out about the Titanfall controller though.

 

To turn off auto renewal on the website go to my account-subscriptions then you can select to turn it off. It will then bring you to an outlook page and ask to submit your email so they can send you a code to verify it and eventually when that's done it
will let you turn it off.
