XBF posters.

Hi, as a poster here on the Xbox support forums but having not been around for a while I figured I'd drop by. I have noticed many XBF people around who I assume are support agents maybe from phone or chat support.

What I have also noticed is a tendancy for threads to get locked once an XBF makes a post, be that an accurate post or not, so I can only assume that as those XBF people have moderator roles too they are locking the threads. This not only prevents someone
who may be able to provide a solution from posting but no doubt irks the original poster as if the posted response is not accurate then they have to go create another thread or look elsewhere rather than possibly getting a solution from another poster on the
forum.

I sense some sort of rivalry going on between these XBF people and if that is the case then all this is serving to do is make the support forums a less desirable place to visit not only for those seeking help but also for those wishing to offer that help.

I can understand threads being locked for some reasons but from what I have seen today there have been threads locked for no apparent reason.

My question is this, what the heck is going on ? If someone can clarify this I'd appreciate it.

I love how the wanted posters responsible for telling roman citizens you're a murdering assassin are in back alleys or on the second floor of buildings that don't have stairs, places only murdering assassins would be able to reach safely.

You're right to highlight that as an area of improvement and it's feedback that has already been sent to the new forum agents. You should be seeing fewer locked threads going forwards.

 

Glad it has been noted. Gets frustrating when you have typed a response, that will be helpful only to hit submit and the post won't go through. You back out to find an XBF response thanking the person, for pointing out the issue, now here's a link
to support. Lock goes on.

answer from an XBF poster as the exact same correct answer was given earlier by an Ambassador?

And it is happening now multiple times that these XBF posters give the same advice than another contributor...

 

XBF is a tag only used by forum moderators. They help people with their issues and they are great for making sure it is a safe community.

 

Um, no. XBF tags are people who work at Microsoft. Forums moderators are just normal users who volunteer to help.

 

I feel like XBF has been a great help so far. They answered my question quickly!! Also i have seen ambassadors posting on the same comments over & over with the same info. Sometimes their info is not helpful or they will ask things like whats the error code
when the code is in the main message of what the issue is... so...?

I appreciate everyones’ help. It gives me another option when trying to get answers instead of struggling to call at a good time.

 

Aye, Also! Im not trying to be mean or anything or pick a side. Im just pointing out that it is rude to blame them when the volunteers are not perfect. They act the same way from my point of view. Im saying change the way youre posting and work together.
We all just want help when we come here guys

 

A lot of the issue with the ambassadors has been an issue with the ambassador site. For a while the forums were the only place for ambassadors to help other users so there was a huge uptick in ambassadors on the forums. Luckily it's dying down and once the
site is fully fixed, it will probably die down some more. Trust me, that's been annoying some of us who have been forum regulars for years.

 

Oh. I see you post lots too! You are pretty good but yeah, if that happens with the ambassadors then maybe it is the same for xbf. Like what if their site is jacked up? Idk. But like i said, i do appreciate everyones help. I just dont feel comfortable
when i see comments of some ambassadors attacking xbf or xbf sounding like theyre one uping each other. Its cool when everyone is just trying to help us, cause thats all we want honestly. Dont you guys too?

 

With the new forum support it was not the same issue. They are specific support members to the forums so there were no other sites for them. It was just an influx of new staff.

im new to forums. I mostly skim through whenever I have a problem. I was noticing people replying back to us. Im glad to see that msgs are not being removed just cause they wanna be mean to us. that they are finding a way to keep our msgs open even on
old ones like you pointed out.
