XB1X not shutting off after inactivity

Discus and support XB1X not shutting off after inactivity in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I’ve set my XB1X to auto-shutoff after 1 hour of inactivity. It doesn’t.     XB1X not shutting off after inactivity


    I’ve set my XB1X to auto-shutoff after 1 hour of inactivity. It doesn’t.

    Anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Xbox One Sleep Timer

    So like many, I like to fall asleep with the television on. This was never a problem before I ran my TV through Xbox One, as I set the sleep timer on my Samsung TV, and it obviously eventually went off. Now, with Xbox One, I can still set the sleep timer on my TV, and the TV will of course still shut off, but the Xbox One will remain on all night. Anyway to prevent this? I see that it has an inactivity feature where it will turn off after a certain amount of inactivity, but having the TV on screen does not count as inactivity. I fall asleep, and my Xbox just runs all night.

    TIL that my halo 4 Xbox thinks that a hard drive memory transfer is 'Inactivity' shutting itself off in the middle and only getting half of my hard drive contents

    Functionality questions.

    The inactivity shut off doesn't work at all for me. I tested it today by closing everything and leaving the console idle at the dashboard. A couple of hours later and it was still on (I have it set to turn off after 60 minutes of inactivity).

    They is no current way to do that no i'm afraid, it designed to shut off and preserve the battery after a period of inactivity.

    I always switch mine off when i'm not instantly using it

    Also along with what MattKV said, you could also turn on Auto-Off, located in the System settings. It can give you the option to automatically shut off the console after 1 hour of inactivity.

    it could be possible that your xbox is turning off after inactivity. you can set this to never turn off, turn off after 1 hour, or turn off after 6 hours of inactivity. If you downloaded 59% and your xbox shuts down because you have the 1 or 6 hour setting
    selected, maybe its reverting back to 31% as a safeguard to make sure your copy of the game isn't corrupted.. not sure if I explained my point and this is just my speculation.

    Switching to a different power strip could help. Usually the xbox will shut off from overheating. I'd recommend putting it on shut off after 1 or 2 hours of inactivity in settings- power mode and start up. Also, if your xbox has a touch sensitive power button,
    cleaning this of dust will stop it from turning off and on. Good luck
