XB1 warranty a joke adopters read small print and warranty up

well, ill be damned. November is right around the corner and will mark one year since I picked up a day one edition of Xbox One through Microsoft online store. I thought I would check all my devices (360's included) to make sure I could keep them all up
to date with extended service warranty's ect. Aside from not being able to access the information on when my warranty's due to some "error occurred to process request, try again later" on myservices.xbox Device Manager page but after talking with an Xbox Rep.
wouldnt you know it! This $500 + black box is only under warranty for 365 days! Also little did I know you have only 45 days to purchase an extended service warranty for your box after date of purchase. I feel like an idiot. I hope all new adopters have a
chance to read the fine print and warranty up their box's unlike my stupid .... that is all.....

Where I come from, most electronics have a one year warranty.

 

Where I come from Extended warranties need to be done at time of Purchase

 

I don't know if the OP's post is complaining...or a warning for other people. But yeah, console only has a 1 year warranty, and you have to buy the extended warranty within 45 days of the purchase of the console.

Fun stuff, ya know?

 

I purchased my extended warranty several days after I read the you only have 45 day to buy extended warranty. I hope I never have to use it but since this was the first console I have ever purchased at launch I thought it was a good idea.

 

So far the only prob I had was crashing and frezzing time to time due to beta.

 

There was no fine print..... X1 comes with a 1 year warranty. OP.... were you hoping for lifetime warranty?

 

Actually OP..... instead of pointing finger at MS.... why not pull your head out of your %%% and :

I think the OP was wanting a lifetime warranty. Most electronics come with a 12 month warranty some more. I don't bother reading the fine print as your countries consumer laws apply. It says in the terms of service in a section that for people who aquire
the contract outside of the US e.g. New Zealand or Australia our rights which our government gives apply. 24th century technology isn't perfect but there are laws in place to make sure it at least lasts a reasonable time and 12 months sounds reasonable. I
brought my 360 slim 250gb console late 2010 and it's still going well. Hardware shouldn't be designed to just die as soon as your warranty expires.

 

I got the 3 year warranty with mine. It was only 25-30 dollars extra. Be more wary next time op.

Sounds like pretty standard fare to me...

 

Three year extended warranty here as well, though i'll probably never need it the peace of mind is nice. I doubt you will have any issues either OP, just enjoy the console; that's why you bought it in the first place.
