Xb1 turning itself on

for over the past year every other week it just turns its self on. Tried searching sites to see if there is a reason for this. I can be watching tv then a wee cloud pops up saying console on then my xbox lights up. Any ideas?

XB1 turning on by itself

I've read a ton of posts about this, but have never seen a decent answer.

My XB1 is turning itself on throughout the day without any input from me.

It's plugged directly into a wall socket, it's too high for a dog to brush against, I've tried unhooking Kinect (although it's set up not to turn on with verbal commands anyway).

I've had it since day one, and it's never done this before.

Likely related: we just moved to a new neighborhood. My suspicion is that a neighbor somewhere is turning it on inadvertently with their controller (although if it's true, that dude keeps some odd hours).

If that is the case, how do I prevent it? If not, any other suggestions? I'd prefer not to set the whole system to a power strip that I have to turn off when I'm not using it.

 

Turning On By Itself

Try changing the power mode in Settings from Instant-On to
Energy Saving or vice-versa and see what happens.
