  1. XB1 slim and non HDR TV

    Hi all.

I am currently toying with the idea of changing from normal Xbox 1 for a xbox1 slim. I see that it uses HDR. Unfortunately my 55" UHD4K Samsung is not HDR compatible. Does this mean it wont work at all on my TV, or will it give the normal 4k image. I've
looked on google but all I can find is what HDR actually is, and not what effect it has on a non HDR telly.

    :)

    @ Saviour

    I have a Xbox Slim

1: It's a brilliant 4K/HDR player if you have a 4K TV. Probably one of the cheapest on the market

2: According to some well known sites the Xbox Slim does give up to a 7% performance boost on older XB1 titles. One site run a comparison with XB1 and Slim running Tomb Raider. The XB1 could drop to 26/7 FPS while the Slim stay steadied at 30fps. Would the
average gamer like me see this boost unless I watched the video? I personally doubt it

3: I've said before it will be interesting to see the first HDR titles coming, NBA 2K17 and Forza Horizin 3 being the first. Some saying the difference will be big, others small but time will tell on that one

  3. 4k TV, Buy Now or Wait for Scorpio

    Brand,

Not just TVs with HDR. My mate got a HDR TV with his slim but because it wasn't HDR 10 he wouldn't of got the full benefit from the Xbox Slim. So if anyone is planning on getting a Slim double check the TV supports HDR10.

Obviously we won't know what will be needed for Scorpio but I'd imagine Microsoft won't make Scorpio require the newest 4K/HDR TVs as people will be in uproar lol

    Hi PricelessBunion,

If you have a 4K TV you'll still be able to take advantage of the higher resolution provided by the Xbox One. HDR is a boost to your TV display's contrast ratio. So basically if your TV is HDR you'll see a big picture quality difference than you would with
    just a standard 4K TV.

If you have a 4K TV you'll still be able to take advantage of the higher resolution provided by the Xbox One S.
