XB1 S Disables Kinect IR Blaster!! PLEASE FIX!

So I just got my Kinect adapter in the mail. Took about a week to get it. My wife and I use it to control our devices, making it easy to put on shows for our kids and keep remotes away from their mischievous hands. To put it simply, we count on being
able to use Kinect.

I hooked the adapter up to the XBox One S, ran the setup program in which Kinect could see and hear us just fine. Seems great so far! Then I move on to setting up my tv, receiver and cable box. The commands aren't registering at all. I tried everything
but it simply will not work. It appears as though you are forced to use the built in XB1 S IR blaster. This is great for those who don't own Kinect and want to control their devices, but majorly screws others. I keep my systems hidden away from plain site
so my kids don't ruin them, and so I don't hear fan noise. Kinect was the perfect accessory for my needs and it seems to have been gimped.

I really hope this is fixed in the near future, but those interested in upgrading may be swayed. It certainly would have changed my mind.

Xbox Does Not Turn on TV

Hi, if it is an Original Xbox One you would need an IR blaster, like the one built into kinect. If it is an S or X the IR blaster is built in.

My turtlebeach x3's will not work whilexbox one kinects ir blaster is on because my turtlebeach x3's also use the ir frequencies.. so i was hoping that in a future update the ir blaster. would only come on when i need it.such as changing channels and turning
onmy tv and cable box .. then the ir blaster would just turn off when not in use. just like regular ir remote would. I hope someone sees this and addresses this problem soon.

You're going to want to post about this idea on the Feedback website for the best visibility. Specifically it sounds like you're looking for an option to choose the Kinect over the console to IR blast on Xbox One S.

While it's not currently an option, posting that feedback could make it possible in the future.

I have this same problem and I am sorry to say this is not FEEDBACK this is obvious, and a big PROBLEM as my Xbox lives under my TV. I have used my DAY 1 Xbox One with the Kinect to turn my Vizio TV on and off the entire time I've owned it, in fact it is
one of my favorite features! Now since I like new things and decide to buy the One S I am ***? I will still post this in the feedback section but this is a PROBLEM not just something to EVENTUALLY get to after it's been sifted through for 6 months on the
feedback forum!
