Xb1 randomely wont read a disc

I will put in game or movie and sometimes my dash will still say "insert disc". Sometimes ill only have to eject and reinsert the disc once, sometimes it takes a few. I dont know if my drive is just buggy or if it needs repair?

My XB1 sometimes doesn't read discs...

Once in a while my XB1 won't read the disc...

-happens to random games (not disc-specific)
-I pop the disc out and back in and it will then work
-Only started happening since the most recent console update (I think)
-XB1 is fairly new (got it in March), but it's gotten heavy usage

Should I be worried this is going to get worse? Or is it possibly just a glitch or error?

 

console randomly returns to the dashboard and acts like it opening the disk try during a game.

I am having the Same issue here, while playing a game it randomely takes me to the Dashboard with Disc tray Icon showing opening but it Isn't actually opening .

 

This is a widely-known issue. Mine does it every now and again. I'm hoping it's just a software issue that can be patched.

Mine just started the other day and now won't pal at all and disk won't eject

 

This sadly isn't something that is going to be patched. Whats going on is that the console disc drive, or the optical disc drive, is malfunctioning, and with that you need to set up a repair. Of course, if you do find the issue not that much of an issue,
then you don't have to set up a repair.

I have an extended warranty until 2017, so I'm not in too much of a hurry to send it in. Maybe if something else will go wrong with it in 2016 or so...then I can get the problems fixed all at once.
