    xb1 powers up but no video signal to tv


    My kids were playing on it last night and when they finished they turned it off by just tapping power button. When I tried turning it on a bit later the power button lights up as usual but nothing appears on the TV.

    Ive tried the fixes suggested on Ms support site and I've also tried it on different TVs I have in house and nothing. Is there anything else I can do?

    Really can't afford to get it repaired but kids are driving me nuts without it.. fingers crossed someone can help ☺

    Yes. The XB1 does not detect whether or not your TV/Cable box is already on or not. It just sends the Power signal whenever you turn it on or off.

    If I switch an app to TV from another app it will sometimes give the 'we've lost your TV signal - but within 5 seconds the TV signal will come on. Now - in the past week I've had two instances of after watching Netflix and then going to LiveTV I've had the
    'we've lost your TV signal' message stay on. I was able to recover by unplugging the XB1 power and replugging it in to do a hard boot up again. I have a DirecTV DVR HDMI output that goes to a 1 to 2 HDMI splitter and then one leg of the splitter goes directly
    to an A/V receiver HDMI input and the other leg of the splitter goes to the HDMI input of the XBOX (and the HDMI output of the XBOX goes to a different A/V HDMI receiver input). Whenever I have trouble with the XB1 TV path - I just switch to the other A/V
    receiver input (that bypasses the XB1 through the other splitter leg. It was a $30 splitter that works around this XB1 TV issue with a simple push of my receiver input select button.

    Hi, the samsung TV is model P2770HD.

    The xbox sends a signal and powers the tv on and off, but no video signal.

    The xbox is working and the ports on the tv are working (i tried direct tv devices and all the porta are working fine.

    The HDMI cable also worked with xbox ONEand another, new TV (samsung smart tv).

    It is an Xbox One.

    Dolby Digital decode & audio options

    Hello NewBlacksmurf,

    Yeah all those options are there, but they effect the whole console and locks it to that choice, so if you select stereo and play a game or watch TV that has a Dolby digital signal, the console doesn't switch to DD its stays on stereo.

    For some reason the xb1 doesn't seem to auto detect the audio signal, if that's the case then an option to select just the TV audio compression would be useful (similar to the 50hz for TV under the troubleshooting video option).
