XB1 owner wanting to download 360 GWG

i want to take advantage of this months 360 GWG Gears of War 3 so I have it ready should it become one of the backward compatibility games later.

I never bought a 360, and in fact the XB1 is my first Xbox console, and none of my friends have a 360 either, but I do have a full Gold Membership.

i was hoping I would be able to purchase the game and then download it to my XB1 if it does become BC.

When I try to buy the game a pop up appears tlelling me that I have to log in to my 360 and do it from there so it can check if it's compatible.

Has anybody else come across this before? If you have did you manage to find a workaround? Or is it just not possible for XB1 owners to get the 360 GWG?

witcher 2 I have it on my 360 but not showing up on xbox one. I sold my 360 so want to play on xb1.

Hi,

I had downloaded witcher2 when it was on gwg on 360. I played it a little. however i sold my 360 and now want to play on my xb1. same account but not showing up under ready to install. When i checked my 360 download history is still shows witcher2. When
i click it, it says item not available. Any help on getting this on my xb1?

I want an Xbox One but most of my friends are getting PS4

Get new friends. Its not that hard.

I have friends that own the PS4 and I own the XB1 and now some of them admit to now wanting the XB1.

Hi there,

As far as I know, your profile needs to have been signed in to an Xbox 360 console, because when you buy or press download on a game from the Xbox Marketplace website, it automatically downloads when you turn on your 360 console. If you've never had a 360
console, it won't be able to do that.

Thanks for that, you've confirmed what I suspected.

I hope that they will change the system when backward compatibility is rolled out to the general public so XB1 only users will be able to get the 360 GWGs as well.

What system are you talking about.....

If it is the 360 then you keep and can play all the gwg even if you revert back to a silver account..

If it is the XB1 then you have to be a gold to access and play all GWG, if you go back to silver on XB1 then you cannot access any GWG, but at any time you can go gold again and get them all back.

If you have a game code and already have the game via GWG on the xbox 360 then you cannot use the code as your account already has said game, but if it is a game code for the XB1 then just allow your account to go silver and then you can redeem said code
to your XB1 account.

Everyone does that.... yeah you need the XB1 app...

now for the Saints row... that would be for the 360....GWG has not come to the XB1 yet.. soon tho... like 2 weeks

I had the same problem with the free GwG Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy - no download option appeared on XB1 despite it being free, just kept getting the "change your payment options" (And this despite having a credit on my account of $80!)

In desperation, I tried downloading the game on my 360. Sure enough, the Download option was present. After doing that and signing back in to my XB1, the game downloaded there as well.

Very glad I still have my 360 running beside the XB1, but that really shouldn't be necessary for something listed as FREE through the Games with Gold program.
