XB1 NAT Needs an Update

After 6 months of being patient. I can't do it anymore. It is pretty obvious nowadays that college students game, and they game hard. Gaming online requires a good internet connection which my college (I understand not many of them do) does provide. My only
problem is that Xbox one's NAT type setting is *** up. My NAT fluctuates all the time between moderate and strict and this entire week I've been stuck with strict and it's downright annoying. I can't connect with any of my friends in a game. I can only hear
or speak to people in a party by miracle of some person joining and in some way acting as a buffer between us (I know that's hard to understand, trust me I don't understand it either it just happens sometimes) but most of the time I can never use the party
app effectively due to my NAT type. I used to be able to do the system settings, network, rtrbltlb, b button trick and switch my Nat to moderate but it doesn't work anymore. So I took it upon myself to bother my IT guy with it. He tried using my MAC address
to fix it. He said a lot of other students were having this problem and found that after researching that Xbox's connection settings looks for a home base router. Guess what, Colleges don't use those! Now I don't know a lot about NAT types and how they work,
what I do know is that my friend down the hall with his PS4 is having more fun than me because his NAT type is fine. So if you will please people make this a big enough problem for Xbox to see, and maybe just maybe they'll develop a solution so us gamers with
this problem can Chilllll

Router capable of open NAT?

Buffalo.... I thank you, you German darlings. Everything's on an open NAT now with no configuration required. Got an XB1 and 360 on ethernet, an XB1 on wireless AC and another 360, laptops, phones etc. on wireless N. The XB1 on wireless AC is getting 50mb down and 20mb up so not too shabby for game updates - only 30mb slower than my wired XB1 haha.

Router suggestions for multiple console support.

I have a Linksys E4200 and having NAT issues on some consoles. I have 3 Xb1 and 1 PS4. I need a router that can support multiple consoles without having NAT issues. Thank you.

Thanks so cone nat is normal.

Ive tried 3 routers.

TPLink WR841N. Which was no good as NAT would go strict randomly and struggled to get open nats on both xb1 and 360 at same tiime.

BT Homehub 3. Which can have open NATs on both consoles but contains a bug where UPnP, Port forwarding and DMZ will break every couple of days requiring reboot.

BT homehub 5. Again supports 2 xboxes but for some reason xb1 cant open required ports. It appears xb1 is not compatible with the UPnP function of this router at all. I have to port forward ports 3074 and 3075 to the xb1 ip address to open the nat..Strangely
even though port 3074 is forwarded to xb1 my 360 is still able to get an open nat via UPnP even though the logs claim that upnp opens port 3074 to xbox 360..

Problem is when i use my xb1 tomorrow the xb1 dashboard nat will probably be moderate again while cod will remain open.

You mention port 3076 as a fallback port. Are you saying i could forward that to xb1 to keep nat open?

Quick Q. Is your cable modem a router as well? If it is, then you will see the post-symmetric NAT issue while using another router. What you can do is power down your XB1 and cable modem. Plug your cable modem directly into the XB1 and then test. IF
your NAT is OPEN, then you need to set your cable modem to BRIDGE mode (If you don't have access to your cable modem, call your ISP).

Same problem here, using a 3.5mm headset. Party can't hear me and I can't use voice commands on the XB1S.

All settings are ok: NAT Open, updated the controller, reset the console.

First off I had open nat the whole life of my Xb360 had Open Nat when I first activated the XB1 turned Energy Saver to Instant on and after turning system off & turned on had A Strict Nat. Not my router, turn back on Energy Saver boot the XB1 off again
turn on wow Open Nat now that sounds like a MS problem.
