    Xb1 media remote ceased function after update


    After taking the update, the TV remote cease functioning. Did Microsoft remove the functionality as the next step to get rid of Media and TV functions? Everyone there is a major update, a feature is removed. If this keeps up, I am going to join others to
    love over the PS. I already made the switch to Mac for desktop so this is the last MS product I have anchoring me to my employer.

    XBOX Media Remote with TV

    After the March update, none of my xb1 media remotes work including the official remote. Waiting of MS to reply to see if they removed the features

    Xbox One Media Remote Play & Pause buttons no longer work after most recent update.

    As the title suggests I can't play or pause using my media remote after the most recent update. I believe the button remapping is to blame. How do I roll back this update or update the media remote so it functions properly? If this is unable to be rolled
    back or updated to function properly, how do I return the remote to Microsoft for a refund or replacement that does work with the current console update?

    I'm sorry to see any issues with the Media remote! There is a known issue with IR blasters right now that could be affecting this. First thing to try is a power cycle by holding the power button on your console for 8 seconds. If that doesn't help, have you
    given the troubleshooting steps in our
    Xbox One Media Remote guide     a shot yet? They are listed at the bottom of that page.

    If you are still having issues, you may need to look into getting the remote repaired. Let me know how it goes, though!

    Media Remote Menu Button During DVD/Blue-Ray Playback

    According tho Xbox Support on twitter there is no way to open a DVD/Blu Ray menu during playback using the Media Remote, suggestion was to use the XB1 controller for this functionality. Which, funny enough, is exactly why I bought the media remote so that
    I don't have to use the XB1 controller for controlling my media.

    Sounds like they are working on a solution.

    YouTube app bug - controller use only??

    I notice YouTube had a update a few days ago and after the update the media remote no longer controlled the screen. I also prefer to use the media remote for all functions except gaming. I am highly disappointed that the YouTube app can not be controlled
    by the media controller. I am trying to use the Xbox one as a entertainment center and part time gaming and this is one more strike against the entertainment function, In entertainment mode I REFUSE to use the huge odd shaped game controller.
