    XB1 fan noise


    I haven't got an XB1 just yet but I would like to know about the noise of the console, can you hear the fan going when playing demanding games? one of my friends has a PS4 and say his can be heard and another has an XB1 and say's his can't. don't know if
    they are competing with each other so hoping someone can spread some light. I will be sitting about 5-6 feet away from console so would I be able to hear the fan going from distance?

    I know its a silly question but I need to know, that OCD side of me wants to know.

    Anyone else's Xbox one run really loud?

    I have no noise issues with my XB1, half the time you cant even tell its running when I have it on, sounds like some sort of an issue. Do you hear a fan running or is it a different kind of noise?

    @joey : You are wrong there is no rampant fan noise issue. You provide links from support where people go for issues. This is not a comparrison thread but, Nintendo,Sony and MS all have a small failure rate. I have had my XB1 since last November 29th 2013
    and it is very quiet.

    Now is a great time to get an XB1 MCC man.

    Mine has basically been on non stop since release and I do not even notice it... let alone hear it.. only time i do is when you put your face right next to it and even then, not sure if it is noise or that electrical buzz feeling you get when you are behind

    I have both. My One only makes noise when Im installing games from disc. Other than that it seems pretty *** quiet. The PS4 makes a bit more noise. Thats probably because of its smaller form factor with less ventilation. It runs a lot hotter as well.

    i would say that unless you were inches away from your X1, you should not heard the fan going, even during game play, so if you can hear it from 5-6ft away, it might be defective.

    other than that, i can heard the hard drive when it first boots up(cold boot, not instant on), or when it starts reading a Blu Ray but goes silent again pretty quickly. don't remember how much sound(if any) there was while installing a game from disc.

    I knew that wasn't the fan. I was just stating the only instance I ever hear anything from my One.
