XB1 controllers left stick drift

I have two xb1 controllers and both are having left stick drift up. Both are less than a year old. One is about a year the other about six months. I have noticed that a small groove and worn into the plastic of the sticks from the outer edge/rum of the controllers
around the housing. This is what making them stick in the up position. However this is unacceptable for two controllers to have already worn out within a year. I guess it may be my fault since I play a game where the characters move forward a lot so I push
the stick forward. Have the controllers been redesigned to fix this, I don't want to be paying $120 every year. Does this problem exist on the elite controller?

Xbox One Controller, left stick faulting!!!

I have two controllers BOTH with drift issues. The one left thumb-stick drifts upwards and the other one has a right thumb-stick drift issue that drifts upward.

Like what the heck am I suppose to do. #SMH

Xbox one controller failures

We have 3 X1 controllers drift forward between me and my son, all left stick drift forward. Pretty sure it's from playing games where sprint is assigned to the left stick. The army camo controller only lasted about a month. Strange thing is, my day one 2013
controller is still fine.

Anyway, I use to get through 360 controllers at a similar rate, only difference was the left sticks drifted left on those.

The regular controllers still have this issue since it's plastic grinding on plastic which causes the friction to create the groove. Some games "Halo" for example have options to calibrate your "Dead Zones" to counter act the results that stick drift gives
you. However it's only a select few that do this at the moment.

The Elite controller has thumbsticks which are made of steel and are interchangeable. The outer ring which the thumbstick slides against when fully moving it to the edge is made from a polished hard plastic so it's highly unlikely or even impossible for
the sticks to grind down. I haven't seen a case of stickdrift on an elite controller though but they're hard to find.

I've experienced the left stick drifting on 2 controllers.

Hi there!

That's odd that your left stick seems to only drift in the Hitman games . Does the right stick drift as well? I'm assuming that controls the camera and aim.

I recommend opening up the Xbox Accessories app and then go into the Configuration page for your Elite controller. From here scroll over to Left Stick to get into the sensitivity graph. This page will give you a visual representation of the input your controller
is receiving. You can notice from here if your left stick is drifting in general and not just in those games. It's possible that the in game sensitivity settings make it more noticeable then any other games if the stick is in fact drifting after the stick
goes back to it's original position after being pressed.

To compensate you can make a controller configuration profile for the Hitman games and set the left stick to Smooth or Delayed to have some more resistance on how far the controller inputs go. Play around with the slider and choose a setting that best resists
the controller drift. You can set it to Slot 1 or 2 and switch to this profile whenever you play Hitman.
