  1. XB1 Controller Problem in Windows 7

My XBox One controller randomly stops functioning. I've been playing Strider and Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, and both of them occasionally stop accepting inputs from the controller.

The controller isn't disconnecting - Strider displays a message to reconnect when that happens. It just stops working in-game. The XBox button is still lit up, the USB cable is still in place, but none of the buttons do anything.

Unplugging the controller and plugging it back in makes it work again, but I don't want to wear out the micro-USB port by doing that 10 times a day. Is there anything I can try to fix this?

    :)

    Jhenao,

the Xbox controller is not yet compatible with windows 8, try and see if you can update the drivers for the controller. my friends and I have the same problem so we all went back to windows 7.

  3. XBOX one Controller 2015 with usb cable to win 7

    Hi,

I have a brand new xbox one Controller and try to add this Controller to Windows 7.

If I connect this Controller via usb to Windows 7, i see a unknown Controller in the Windows device Manager.

But if i try to find Driver via automatic update, no success.

If i install the device Driver xb1usb.11059.0.140526x64.msi, i see a unknown Controller in the Windows device Manager too.

It doesn't work under Windows 7. Using Windows 10 the Controller is kown and the device works.

Any idea what i should do?

  4. XB1 Controller Problem in Windows 7

Ok, so I decided to try out my Kindle's Micro USB cable and it seems to be working fine.

As a note to anyone else who encounters this problem: the cable should sit in the controller's Micro USB port snugly. There shouldn't be any wiggling. Apparently different companies make their Micro USB connectors slightly different sizes, despite there
supposedly being a standard *grumblegrumble*. Mine was a Mediabridge - buyer beware.
