XB1 Controller on PC

First: This is not a thread comparing controller vs kb/m. Please refrain from commenting your personal opinions one way or another about which is superior and what not.

Microsoft released drivers to allow XB1 controllers to be plugged in via micro usb and used for all games that the x360 controllers were compatible with.

Here is my issue: My xb1 controller is totally unresponsive when it comes to Battlefield 4. It works on every other game I try, even the other origin launched ea games. All buttons have been assigned in the menu, but for some reason it does nothing at
all (including menus). Drivers were installed correctly for 64 bit windows 7, and I have tried re-installing both origin and battlefield 4.

Any ideas what could be wrong here? The problem seems to be specific to battlefield 4/3 when using an xbox one controller.

XB1 controller on PC

To start things off I have a GL702VM with windows 10. For months I’ve been using both PS4 dual shock and XB1 controllers for gaming on my PC without any problems; you plug it in via micro USB and voila! The Xbox logo lights up on the controller it vibrates
and I’m good to go. It’s been that easy ever since the windows 10 anniversary update, until 2 days ago...

All of a sudden, when I try to connect the controller, it vibrates but nothing registers, the logo doesn’t light up and it’s happening to both Xbox1 controllers, and both PS4 dual shocks... I don’t understand it. None of them work all of a sudden. Here’s
a list of what I’ve tried and done.

—I’ve tried 5 different micro usb cables in every different one of the USB ports thinking that maybe the issue, even tho they charge my phone and worked prior.

—I’ve tried updating every driver (16 of them did) and downloading any software updates.

—I’ve used the Xbox accessories app and it won’t read anything.

--Tried updating the device firmware by hardline’n the controllers to the Xbox it’s self but it keeps tells me to plug in the controller even tho it works and lights up without the battery’s (could be cause it says no firmware updates are available...idk)

--I’ve also tried to connect either one of the controllers using the Bluetooth or wireless capabilities but the controller just blinks in discovery mode and the PC never picks it up...

--Cleaned up all registry files so there wasn’t any lingering corrupt files maybe blocking it...

The one thing I’m not sure about is if the controller was ever recognized on device manager when it was working, because it doesn’t appear there now and I’ve seen posts online saying to update the device through that and/ or get the XB1 controller drivers,
but that was all old posts pre Anniversary update, and it’s been a simple plug and play since then.

What makes it weirder is that it’s doing the same thing on my brothers laptop so I’m wondering if it could possibly be an update that windows installed and is causing the issue? but I don’t recall any recent updates... is anyone else having this problem
or experienced this and have any ideas? Please, I could really use any advice cuz I’ve tried everything, except rolling my cpu back to a previous back up date when it did work, but I’m affraid that it won’t do anything.

I just did a quick search, apparently EA decided not to include full support for 360 controllers (therefore including the way that the XB1 controller works) within Battlefield 3 and 4 on PC.

As far as I can see, the developers simply didn't bother including support for these devices.

Have you tried using any Xbox 360 Controller Emulation software and forcibly implementing the controls into the games file directory? That worked for me with a few games. For the software I used, I had to set up each button on the controller to do a certain
thing when pressed.
