XB1 controller disconnects

Hey guys I know I can't be the only one but i got a one for x-mas and ever since the last update in Jan,2016 my controller disconnects.

Same problem here.. Xb1 S controller randomly disconnects, original xbox one controller has no issues with xb1 S console...

Does anyone else's xb1 controller disconnect when they lose xbox live connection? I just want to know if that is normal.

Yes and it still happens ever since the Jan update.

 

My controller starts acting weird about 15 minutes before the low battery indicator pops. When getting the "disconnects" it usually remembers the last input; been a few times I've fell to my death in Fallout 4 because of "walking" off the top of a building.
Should probably mention the controller doesn't fully disconnect to the point it needs to be powered back on, but more of a "lights flashing, last input, controller disconnected message, press A" type of thing.

Seems to be directly related to the type of battery and power level of said battery.

Against the rules to suggest repairs, but disconnects are often caused by loose fitting batteries. To test simply remove the battery cover, place your fingers on the batteries and hold them in tight while navigating.

If it does not disconnect, then loose batteries is the problem.

If no-joy then if you bought it at certain stores, return the entire console and exchange it for another one.

 

Another possibility. I've had a few controllers (X Box 360.) that all it took was prying out the little battery connectors to "fit" the batteries better.

Why is it against the rules to suggest repairs?

No idea, but that's what I heard. So I for one, whether right or wrong, will simply play it safe.

 

Swaggnation504 do you have access to another controller that you can test? That would help determine if it is the controller or the console having the issue.

 

It does not disconnect on my brother account.

 

It's against the rules to talk about self repair, for some reason it falls into "modifying" hardware.

OP try a different controller if you have access to one try to narrow it down to either the controller or the system.

Do you have your console next to anything that may interfear with the signal like a wireless router ?

 

If your using Kinect it could not be recognising you for some reason....try recalibrating it if your using one.
