    XB1 barely recognizing ex hd.


    Although I'm no computer programmer I know how to handle myself well in software environments.

    On to the issue. I saved EVERYTHING I possibly could to my ex hd. No problems transferring the games and apps. XB1 gets a hard shut down. I remove the ex hd. Console restarts. None of the games or apps I tranferred are in the internal. Hard shut down, replug
    ex hd, boot up, and my files are there and working. Great!

    But here's where it gets tricky. Because I now know that my ex hd has all the games and apps, I decide to do a facory reset withOUT the ex hd plugged into the console. Console gets reset. Go through all the initial sign ins, settings check (with some tweaks),
    and do a hard shut down. Plug the ex hd back in, sign in, and go to my games and apps. I have quite a few games not showing up (about 40 of about 120 items). The ones that aren't showing up in my storage area aren't showing up in the ready to "install section"
    either.

    The worst part is I canNOT load any of the ones left that are showing up. Instead it sends me to the game's store hub. And although the hub gives shows "play" in the rectangle, when I press A on it the page "refreshes" with the play rectangle. It doesn't
    give me the option to "install now" or "buy" so I know my console is recognizing the content of the hd.

    Has this happened to anybody else? What was the workaround, if any?

    My Xb1 is having trouble recognizing my ext HD since the update yesterday.. And I mean immediately after I loaded the update.. When the console does recognize the ext hd, everything is slow - loading games or even just accessing things in the dashboard,
    I repeatedly get error messages saying things are taking too long to load.. Also, on and off, the console is refusing to recognize or sync with the controllers.. Have tried all the cache-clearing, rebooting options, unplugging, replugging everything, etc.,
    etc.. Nothing is helping..

    You are confused. The xb1 does support DTS-HD Master Audio. What happens is that the xb1 is doing the decoding and passes the signal to your receiver as uncompressed LPCM. No difference in sound between LPCM and DTS-HD. It's just a matter of which device
    is doing the decoding and in this case it's the xb1.

    What xb1 can't do yet is pass thru the DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD to your receiver and let the receiver do the decoding. Hopefully MS fixes that soon.

    HD DVD Player not reading discs

    So my lens cleaner just arrived and the HD DVD player wouldn't recognize the disc, just as it was an HD DVD. It still recognizes regular DVDs but it doesn't recognize audio CDs either. Is that a sign the lens has completely gone?
