XB 1S USB Conections

Hi all.

is it possible to use a USB hub with the XB One S?

I had a hard drive, USB charger and steering wheel plugged into the xb one. The one S only has 2 USB slots. And needs one for the Kinect sensor.

I have swapped the controller to use rechargeable batteries, charged separately now.

With the Hard drive plugged in, and now the Kinect taking another USB slot I now have to unplug the connect to attatch the steering wheel. Massively disappointed that the one s wasn't provided with a working Kinect, and this just makes it worse!

If a USB hub can be used, can anyone recommend one that works, or are there issues with this?

Does anyone have any issues or solution for the front USB socket that does not connect any devices on an Xbox 1S

I have wondered the same thing since the Xbox 360 and the answer that I got from Xbox Support (for the Xbox 360) is that it isn't recommended that a multi-port USB hub be used at all.

I think that the issue with using a multi-port USB Hub on a single USB Port is that the power distribution thing is going to be messed up.

Xbox One S has 3 USB ports, 2 on the back and one in front on the black trim at the lower left of the disc slot.

I use this hub on the 360 and the Xbox One and have never had any issues with devices attached to either console...www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_6

Nice didn't spot that one! Haha. That solves the issue. I won't try the hub in case it does draw too much power as mentioned above.

It is easy to miss as it blends right in with the black of the front trim. The hub I linked to is powered so no power draw from the console.
