XAC doesn't work with my Sidewinder 92626 joysticks

I purchased two Sidewinder 92626 joysticks to use with the XAC, figuring they must work, being MS product and having support in Windows.

But when I plug them into the XAC nothing happens.

Help?

XBox Adaptive Controllor with Logitech 3D Pro Joystick setup

I bought this product, hoping to use my old Microsoft SideWinder Joystick with XBox (Joystick capabilities for FlightSims & Racing Games are a really miss on XBox)

Of course it did not work, even it is a HID Interface. Next step was to buy the Logitech Joystick, hoping this would work.

But -to stay fair - here it is written how the logitech Joystick works.

what i find a bit tricky is, that you have no direct Feedback, meaning, if you map a button you have to load the profile to make it work. But at least it works.

joystick doesn't good work

In my joystickt directional livers doesn't good work. It's under microsoft warranty, because i bought it last december. How i can do to send my joiystick in the Microsoft assistance?

I have thrustmaster hotas, works fine but I believe it is the only joystick licenced for xbox one at this time.

It appears that the Sidewinder "92626" is not a HID compliant Joystick. It was an update to an old Gameport standard joystick, and the USB was just a conversion from the gameport protocol, which required specific drivers.

The XAC requires HID compliant joysticks, I am sorry.

You are probably right.

This is what the Sidewinder shows up as in MAC OS. I'm assuming it probably works in games on the mac because of legacy support.

Doesn't say HID but then neither does anything else.

The Adaptive Xbox controller is supported but the Sidewinder 92626 may not be. The supported joysticks and accessories are located on this page:

https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/accessories They are all plug and play, the ones on that page.

It would be best to customize the adaptive controller through the Xbox Accessories App with supported accessories. Some details on how to do it can be found here: Customize the Xbox Adaptive Controller in the Xbox Accessories app.
There are also links to groups on the page that have setup suggestions for the controller as well.

Manufacturers often change a product design and continue to sell it as the same product. This is normal and can result from supply chain issues or cost-saving efforts. It sounds likeone of two things has happened, because reporting of this XAC incompatibility issue is widespread on this forum:

Maybe a recent hardware revision of the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick has made it no longer compatible with XAC
Maybe a recent firmware revision of the XAC has made it no longer compatible with Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick
Maybe this regression is a complicated product of both hardware and firmware revisions

Wherever the problem stems from, it is the case that a new Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick does not work with an updated XAC today.

Rather than waiting for Logitech and Microsoft to stop their Spiderman-pointing-at-Spiderman customer support reaction, I recommend buying a different joystick. Finding an XAC-compatible joystick can be difficult, but I have successfully tested the following in the past month: Thrustmaster USB Joystick, Hyperkin Trooper 2, and Ultimarc UltraStick 360.

If, by chance, you can play with one joystick and some arcade-sized buttons, I recommend looking for a "fight stick" controller to take the place of your XAC + joystick setup. (A fight stick is a large controller designed for fighting games.)
