X360 games on XBOne

Apologies if this is the incorrect forum.....

I am getting the kids and I an XBOne for Christmas. We have several physical copies of X360 titles don't yet appear to be backwards compatible. I would love to be able to play several of these on the XBOne, for example GTA V (me) and Minecraft (kids) come
to mind. It sounds like the only two ways to continue playing these titles is play them on my X360 or purchase them digitally on the XBOne. Correct? Has MS ever mentioned in the future they may allow you to purchase the XBOne version at a discounted price
if you already own the physical 360 version? It would just be nice not to fork over additional $$ if I already own the 360 version.

If I do purchase the XBOne digital version, will game saves from the 360 version transfer over?

backward compatible issue

When I try to play any of my x360 games(which are on the backward compatible list) on my xbone, I get logged off of xbl. I am therefore unable to play any of my x360 games online..... It's a bit annoying... I do check to see if my xbone is online and
it is...

Is this a known issue?

 

Saves are not transfering

I'm having trouble with the Xbone not downloading my previous X360 game saves.

I went on my X360 and copied my save files from the HDD to the Cloud. I installed the save files on my Xbone, everything looked OK but it didn't work. Uninstalled everything, did a hard reset then reinstalled, still didn't get my saves to work.

 

1) No one over the age of 12 still refers to it as an "Xbone". Either Xbox One, One or X1 seem to be the norm.

2) There was a deal on purchasing the One version of Minecraft if you owned the 360 version. I'm not sure if the deal still exists though. (It's been about 15 months since I bought it.) Also should mention that any sort of deals being offered are done
by the publisher of the game, not MS.

3) I highly doubt GTA V and/or Minecraft will ever be backwards compatible due to their separate releases on the One. It doesn't make sense from a business standpoint.

Free/discounted upgrades to the Xbox One version of games is up to the developer/publisher of the game. Because of this, it varies game-to-game. GTA V doesn't have an offer for an upgrade at this time, I believe Minecraft still has an offer where you can
buy the Xbox One version for $5 (instead of $20) if you have played the Xbox 360 version.

Similarly, data transferring from the Xbox 360 version to the Xbox One version is up to the developer. I believe Minecraft has a way to move worlds from 360 to Xbox One, and if I remember right your GTA Online progress can transfer as well.

Hope this helps... for other titles you'll have to look up whether discounts/upgrades exist.
