Discus and support x265/HEVC mkv video support for Xbox 360? in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Can the Xbox 360 play x265/HEVC codec video files in MKV format using the System Video Player?     x265/HEVC mkv video support for Xbox 360?


    Can the Xbox 360 play x265/HEVC codec video files in MKV format using the System Video Player? Please reply. Thank you.

    Movies & TV, unable to change betweek audio tracks, selects the last audio tack by default

    Hi,

    In the "Movies and TV" app from Microsoft, if I try to change the Audio track for a movie streaming from USB or NAS (mkv, x265, HEVC), I can see the menu to change the Audio, lists the audio in the file (2, 4 or 5), and I cannot change from the last Audio
    stream (normally, the 5th on, Narrator comments......).

    Latest version of everything.

    Playing file from a PC of NVidia Shield, can change audio no problem.

    Xbox one S video format support

    Hi all,

    I might be considering the Xbox One S as I am looking for a good media player anyhow.

    A few things I am wondering however:

    What file types does the console support?

    Is 4k x265 HEVC 10bit one of them?

    I have a Samsung KS8000 4k HDR TV and playing 4k X265 10bit files gives lots of stutters. Therefore, I want to make sure the above file play smoothly without issues x265/HEVC mkv video support for Xbox 360? :)

    I might be mistaken, but your link does not seem to be the answer to my question. I am not asking if it supports 4k and HDR, but what file types it support and more importantly if it supports 4k
    10bit
    X265 HEVC formats (as well as 1080p x265 HEVC 10bit). If it doesn't support this new format, it's pretty useless as a future proof (4k) media player. :(

    All formats play perfectly via the KS8000 default player, except any of my 4k x265 HEVC 10bit test files I downloaded. Of course I can imagine its the most advance format there is, but as its a 4k TV which supports 10bit, I would love to be able to play

    the problem is like 99.99999% of mkv use h264 for their video codec which x360 did not support as ms
    wanted to push their own video codec.
    The 360 supports h.264. It has since a dashboard update in 2007.
