    X1X HDMI issues


    Hey all; here's the skinny;

    I use an Xbox one X on a Samsung Q80R which besides the annoying power on/off they like to play with each other has been seamless. Until today that is. I turned on the set, turned on the X1 and keep getting no picture/sound from the Xbox. What's strange
    about that though is as I am removing the HDMI it will flash the dashboard/screen on the TV. Now at first I thought it was the TV acting funky but I've tried out my other consoles and my son's X1X on it and they all worked fine. And yes before anyone asks;
    I've done the whole hard reset trick, different HDMI cables, inputs etc etc. multiple times now to no avail.

    I then went to trying out the X1X on a separate TV in my living room which oddly also would not display any picture from it (both of these are 4k sets mind you) So thinking perhaps its related to something with the handshake.

    I tried it on an older set I have in my bedroom which only goes up to 1080p and it works beautifully without any issue so I think perhaps a glitch? Go plug back into the Q80 and it works...for a second until the Q80 decides to recognize the Xbox One and
    then everything goes blank again. Strangest thing I've ever ran into honestly. I'm thinking it must have something to do with the handshake required for the 4k sets and the Xbox having some weird issue that just suddenly occurred which given my history with
    these things isn't unlikely.

    Anyone else experienced similar issues and if so how did you fix it? Or am I just out of luck and get the blessed opportunity to spend 250 bucks and wait a month for a refurb console with no warranty?

    So I may have figured out how to solve the problem time will tell though. I write this mostly to try and help advise anyone else who runs into weird issues like this one.

    I tried again and noticed that it would sync up but continually lost picture with the Samsung so I tried hooking my PS4 up to the same input again and it had none of the issues so I retested the Xbox with another set I have which doesn't have Variable Refresh
    rate and the connection seemed stable enough, I went into updates and saw there was a new one available and went ahead and completed that update on the X1X. After doing this and using the new HDMI cord (for good measure mostly) I haven't seen any issues since.

    Not sure if it was a botched update and this was a patch of some sort that came out or what because sadly there's hardly ever any info on each update that I can locate

    [Xbox One X] Need help : Intermittent recurrent HDMI signal losses / black screen (new to Microsoft consoles, first major problem...), any ideas?

    I confirm that after testing today my X1X on TV, I still have the issue (very recurrent loss of HDMI signal, the images are flickering a lot, in fact I even didn't get any normal image :( )

    Conclusion : The issue is in my X1X (maybe GPU flaw) => I will ask for Microsoft repair service.

    Frustrating, I just didn't have luck with my new X1X :/

    Can’t sign in

    02/02/2019 X1X stopped working, black screen. Tried all the solutions to the problem from the Microsoft site, did not help. The TV does not see the X1X (tried to connect to different TVs, and different HDMI cables). I tried to reset to factory settings, did not help.
