Xbox one audio out help

    Hi guys,

I have got my xbox one connected to a projector via hdmi cable, the projector has a really crappy speaker in it and I was hoping to find a way to connect my turtle beach X12's to the xbox.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to audio stuff so is there a way that I can plug my 3.5mm plug on my x12's into the spdif on the xbox as that is the only way I can see to get sound out of the xbox apart from the hdmi cable?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Does anyone have any comparison between the Turtle Beach X11 and X12's?
they are basically the same only differences are that

    x11 are wired

    x12 are wireless
Nope, x12s are still wired. The only differences are that the x12s have 50mm speakers compared to the x11s 40mm speakers, the x12s have variable bass boost and they are black/green instead of black/white.

    Turtle Beach X12 Question
I'm in the same boat as Toxic and Freelance. I have everything hooked up correctly, but no game audio is coming through my headset. I just opened these up like an hour ago and they won't work.

I have my XBox connected via HDMI, x12s are connected to the XBox via USB, green cable is connnected, red/white is in the corresponding audio out. Volume is turned up everywhere. My game sound is coming through my tv, but not my headphones.
You may find that you have to manually select the audio output on your TV.

If you go into the settings menu on your TV you will normally see two selections, TV speaker and External speaker. If you change the setting from TV speaker to External speaker this should switch off the in-built TV speakers and change the audio output
to the red & white phono sockets on the rear/side of the TV.

Therefore giving you your audio feed for your X12 headset.

    5.1 Real or gimmick?

No it cant , you only have two speakers in your x12's one in each side , so its impossible to get true 5.1 . the unit connects to nyour xbox via an optical cable so it can recieve a 5.1 signal however it converts this signal to "virtual surround sound" for
your headset. It makes clever use of volume levels and sound processing to create a kind of surround sound giving you better sound and a better idea of where the sounds are coming from , i have the x12's with the earforce DSS and i think its fantastic.

    Turtle Beach X12

The X12 builds on the success of the legendary X11, the best selling XBOX gaming headset of all time, adding 50mm speakers and adjustable bass for professional-grade sound quality that delivers a competitive advantage. With the X12, you can hear sound cues
that are missed with conventional TV speakers, such the sound enemy footsteps, or the click of a loading weapon in the distance. That means you’ll react faster and take them out before they take you out, giving you the edge that can make the difference between
winning and losing. You’ll also enjoy unsurpassed comfort during extended game play thanks to the large, deep-cushioned ear cups and rugged, lightweight design.
