X1 the future?

SO unlike alot of people who come in here and bash the X1 and praise the ps4 I have done ALOTT of research.

From what I am being told and reading a few things are very disappointing:

1. X1 sales were below the PS4 (BUT still incredibily high..wtg).

2.PS4 is about to release in the next few months a way to back play ps,ps2, and ps3 games on the ps4. Something alot of peole wanted.

3. Under the hood the PS4 is better.

4. Japan/China market is opening up for consoles.. PS4 will dominate while X1 will drag.

5. 73% of people who have the X1 (self included) wish they had not rushed into buying the X1 and waited.

6. X1 is supposibly having a major update in next few weeks to fix some stuff.

7. Xbox has a better record then Sony for releasing updates.

8. Gamestop shares dropped Tuesday big time with Sony annoucment of going to no cd device (Xbox is discussing releasing a no disk X1)

9. X1 is not a gaming console. It is a home entertainment console.

10. X1 prices might be cut sooner then expected.

Rigth now the future of X1 does not looki good but anything can happen to change that. I just hope it survives.

Additional Comments = If you're wondering why " Return From The Different Dimension " is there is that the CPU uses a lot of remove from play capable cards, thus I place it in this set-up despite the fact that I don't have any cards that remove things

Dude, this is just another bashing thread. You make wild claims with no links to your sources.

1. This is true sure but this comparison has always bothered me. The PS4 will always do better because of its price. That is just our economy, it means nothing bad about the X1s future. 2. This it true too, but again, means nothing for X1. We don't know hardly

As someone who owns a ps4 and takes interest in the annoucement, nothing was said about ps4 going discless. What was said was that the ps4 was nearly discless, the same as the XO.

Both consoles will be perfectly fine in the future, the part I do agree with you OP is that the ps4 is a gaming machine that plays media, the XO is a media hub that plays games. But then this has been known since E3

 

PS4 wont dominate, it will have an increase in sales but i don't think anything console wise will top pc gaming in china for a long time it has a massive share and it's hard to show pc people something better on a console lol.

Depends who you listen to aswell though i guess, i posted the story from the bbc news page and the firm analysing it said MS would have an advantage due to outsourcing hardware which means it would be easier to setup 3rd party production and supply in china
compared to Japanese companies that have there own production and aren't exactly friendly towards china anyway etc.

Can pick n choose sources to back up whatever these days, the market will speak for itself lol

 

And don't forget being cheaper is what pushed the 360 so far ahead of ps3 (and out nearly a year earlier) price should have been Microsofts no.1 priority they have the deeper reserves of cash

 

I'm curious where you are getting your statistic that X1 owners wished they waited? I know that I read somewhere that more PS4 owners were satisfied but both had pretty good satisfaction rates by the chart I saw.

I think it will survive. MS has already built a name for it (it's not like Zune where they are doing this out of no reputation at all) and they have a lot of money to back it. I think though the roles of PS and xbox have reversed for this generation (where
PS is the more dominant console but that doesn't mean xbox is going to fail. PS3 did not fail, it just wasn't dominant).

Maybe this will be good. Maybe MS will be forced to compete and maybe they'll actually do stuff like remove the BS on Live Gold (the you need it for internet access and Netflix and that stuff. I have no issue with the multiplayer but hey, maybe if they do
really badly to try to win people back they'll get rid of that. Ok... not really since MS gets most their money from the Live Gold subs so they'd have to charge for something). Already MS is starting to offer better games with games for Gold.

So, really, PS4 doing better can only do good things for xbox fans . Forcing MS to actually compete may end up with MS being in Sony's position next time with all the good deals and such.

Of course, this depends on MS not being stubborn and starting to actually make Sony work for that competitive advantage (trying to win it back). Problem with MS is they are so used to just telling people to "deal with it" (I don't mean to pun but that really
is perfect for MS's attitude towards customers) because they're used to not having competition with their main moneymakers (windows and office). So I think they get confused when they have competition that they can't just dicate terms. But the fact they already
did one big 180 shows they can realize that sometimes they'll have to capitulate to what customers want.

If this is a well researched topic I would like to see all of the sources confirming your points that you have made. I consider myself up to date on what's happening in the gaming world and have not heard most of the stuff you have said. Sony dominating
in China/ Japan made me laugh. You do know that there is regular anti Japanese protests in china?

GOOGLE FOR MORE INFO. i DIDNOT SAY THEY WERE MAKING A NEW PS4 OR X1. i SAID THEY ARE GOING TO A NO CD DEVICE AKA STREAMING. HELL DO SOME RESEARCH AND YOULL FIND THE X1 WAS EVEN GOING TO HAVE A NO DISC TO RECENTLY and they are also currently looking into
steaming. It is the way of the future. PS4 has stated on Sony website that the next devices they do will not have disk drive since it is becoming obsolete.
