X1 stopped turning on and off my audio receiver since update

I don't think this applies to my situation since my receiver is not hooked up through Hdmi and the xbox one does not support CEC. I think the Kinect is sending out an on and then an off signal through the blaster.

Hey everyone hoping to get some help. I am not sure if this has to do with the update but my X1 stopped turning on and off my audio receiver. Volume and mute commands still work. this morning the audio receiver stopped turning on and off when I turn power
my X1. Cable box and tv still work fine. Everything has worked perfect since I got my X1 in early January.

My setup is:

X1 HDMI into Samsung HWD550/ZA HDMI into Samsung LED

As a follow-up it seems like the Kinect is not even sending an IR power signal to the audio receiver. I placed the Kinect right next to the receiver to see if this was an issue of the signal not reaching. That does not seem to be the issue.

 

I have been in a tweet discussion with @XboxSupport about my issue with a Vizio soundbar and I received a tweet stating that this is fixed in a future update. I'm not sure if that is the March 2014 update or something down the line. I'm hoping it is the
March update. I'm up on the registration for update previews as of today...I'll let you know when/if the update pushes out to me.

 

Thanks for the update! Fingers crossed for March! The wife is not happy she doesn't know how to turn on the entertainment system anymore

 

This got fixed for me this morning in an update to the early update

 

I've just bought a Sony STR-DN840 that refuses to turn off via Kinect. Only reason I'm posting though is to +1 the unhappy wife problem. "i just want to watch the TV". When will they learn that TV is a complicated business now?

 

Glad to hear that worked Will. I just signed up for the Preview Update so hopefully my problem will be fixed in a few days as well.

Funny how that always seems to be the case, isn't it Xninja? She was definitely skeptical of me getting an X1 but now she navigates and uses the voice commands like a pro. She wasn't happy when the last update messed things up haha.

 

This tread is very helpfull and i am glad im not the only one who has experiance a problem since Samsung AV update.

I just downloaded the March Preview Update and the issue is fixed. Soundbar turns on and off again no problem. New update also had Dolby Digital which is pretty cool. Thank you Microsoft for fixing this problem!

 

After the Feb update, my X1 won't turn my 360 on or off any more,. Prior, it would always turn it on, although it only turned it off about half the time. Very disappointed in the XboxOne.

 

You're an inspiration Thundercleetz. My wife watches me shouting XBOX TURN OFF YOU STUPID T@$£ with a look of pity and told you so. I need some tips. In the meantime, if any Microsofters are reading this please add me to the early update as my Xbox needs
all the PR help it can get.

 

Good to hear the March update will resolve this issue, not a massive deal to turn the sound bar off manually but I do like the media connectivity stuff.

So I tested this by removing the HDMI cables from my cable box and tv, so it is clearly obvious that the Kinect controls everything through IR blast. Direct Hdmi and optical connection means nothing. Microsoft please add my audio receiver ONKYO TX-SV414PRO!
