X1 stereo headset problem - white noise / background noise

Having a major issue with my x1 stereo headset.

When ever I use it I get a background hum / hiss / white noise with these? Even on the dash when quiet. I have returned my first pair hoping it to be a fault, yet the second do the same.

Tried my creative fatality into the adapter and no background noise(but obviously only with the audio jack and not the mic as no y cable to hand), but also tried the x1 stereo headset on my phone and don't seem to notice it(the background noise).

I'm confused if I have a problem. It seems to appear only when the x1 is on and using the x1 stereo headset.

It does not appear to adjust when I turn up the headset or turn it down, its always there consistent. Tried gaming(halo), its noticable especially in the quiet or quieter sections. Tried watching a streamed video (star trek) from my nas it's constant and
highly distracting, its quiet-ish under the audio not over but always there.

I asked a friend to see if they noticed, they didnt identify it at first, once I turned the controller off and then back on it was. So you get real silence no noise if it is off and kicks in when (I guess) powered or connected to the x1.

It's almost like when you turn a headset (or speakers) to full volume with out any input. I hope someone can,understand first what im getting at and second maybe a solution as I REALLY like them and find them comfortable however with that constant background
noise it's impossible for me to use them.

Anyone had white / background noise with the x1 stereo headset?

I realise this is tagged onto my support post, however I just wanted to know if anyone has had this problem, thus I thought general was the best place to ask.

Purchased the x1 stereo headset, returned and the replacement has the same problem: I get a constant background noise, white noise, no matter what, in game / video / or at the dash with nothing playing. It doesn't change if I change the volume, and is always
present. It is like when you turn speakers or a headset up to full volume without anything playing.

Has anyone else had this or am I going crackers?

Your headphones are good, tried to check all console audio options with the headset? There are options to eliminate noise and background noise, I have a Razer Kraken Essentials and the audio is perfect.

Regarding voice and communication there is a very good suggestion in the enforcement page you might follow:

Reduce unwanted background noise and audio feedback.

Many players find background noise distracting and feel it disrupts the gaming experience. If your headset or Kinect microphone regularly picks up background noise (such as music, fans or air conditioning units, barking dogs, background conversations, etc.)
other players may not have a positive reaction. To ensure other players have a pleasant experience, consider finding ways to reduce background noise or mute your microphone when not talking.

If this problem is occurring because of something in your environment i.e, an apartment/house/outside noise, there isn't much you can do. The noise will always be picked up by your headset.
