X1 S won't go to dashboard

I try to power on my console and get the green xbox 1 loading screen. Instead of bringing me to the dashboard it acts like it is trying to load an app. I think it is the My Games and Apps app. The screen flashes with the app logo (four rectangles) just
for a second and then it disappears. It does this every 5-10 seconds, probably 10 times and then shuts down. I've held power for 10 seconds to do a hard reset, but that doesn't work. I unplugged for a minute, tried again and still get the same result.
It will accept and eject discs while this is happening.

What made me buy an X1

To myself, the cable feature was just fabulous, Microsoft got this system so right, and when the word gets out..even more so, that X1's a true entertainment device Microsoft won't be able to keep the X1 in stock.

Sidenote: Alot of folks i talk to think X1's just another bluray player, it's just recently iv noticed that changing, the buzz is out, and Microsoft won't be able to keep up with demand.

From going back and forth from the 360 to the X1, hands down the X1 is where's it's at. Smooth flow, easy access pins, great. The 360's dashboard is so.... 360.... imagine that....

Hey BillSzoverdu! I would suggest you give a factory reset a try and see if that helps. more info can be found

here. You can try the "Keep my games & apps" option first, but may need to remove everything. Give that a shot and post back to let me know how it goes!

I have had my X1 since launch and it is very quiet, when I go to my friends house, his PS4's fan is louder but not by much, however there are times the fan kicks up during gameplay on the PS4 which I find is annoying. But I don't know anyone that has a white
X1, so I can't comment on its noise level.

As for the rest, the X1 is still a little unstable, I've never had the dashboard freeze on me, but have been sent to the dashboard a few times while playing a game, and even with the last update, the X1 sometimes still has to hard rebooted to make the party
system work.

All in all, it is very quiet, I'm currently sitting a few feet away from my X1 and I can't hear the fan going and I can place my hand on the vent and it is nearly warm, that after playing Dragon Age for over an hour, and the bugs don't happen to me enough
that I won't recommend the X1 to other person.

Everyone's experience will be different, if you're that concerned about it, might try to find one somewhere that has a really good return policy.

It could be an issue they're having. Honestly the 360 platform on the X1 is messing up everything from thumbnails to dashboard performance. I would just wait :s
