X1 Reliability is Rock Solid

So did they fix the "popping/sticking tumbstick" issues on the X1 controller yet? If so, what exactly, other than them placing a 4-600 dollar hold on your CC for an exchange did they do about it?

 

I bought 3 Day One systems. 2 consoles had to be sent back, and the 3rd will run but only in Wifi mode (not hardwired to cat5). I'm 50+yrs old and virtually empty nested, 2 of the xbone's went to my 2 sons; my xbone see's mild use yet my factory headset
died in the first week, and I have gone through 2 controller cables. I traded in 2 perfectly good working xbox 360s's (A Reach Box, and a Halo 4 Box), plus my son's Gear of War box, and dropped a lot of $, just for a system that constantly has issues particularly
due to poor quality hardware and design. What is with all the cheesy connectors and cables? My youngest (17yrs) went out and bought a used 360 console (since he traded his original one to put toward xbone hardware), and spends most of his time on that. I pulled
out my $80 Samsung BluRay player cause it has a better quality image than my xbone! And the OS on this thing... "clunky", much too visual ("tiles"), which I feel detracts from functionality. What a headache. I miss my older xboxes.

 

You are one unlucky guy. My day one has been flawless. 360 had big visual tiles also and way more than the X1 has. Take them back under warranty. Easy.

 

The Xbox One was designed to log a ton of hours, through Blu Ray playback, TV, Netflix, Music, Video Games and more. It definitely can handle the workload. I am glad you are enjoying your purchase. And I can not wait for this years Xbox exclusives!

 

I watched a video with some peps who work for Microsoft who said the Xbox 1 controller can withstand something like 2 million button pushes. I've had Xbox 1 since Day 1 and no hardware faults. It has 8GB DDR3 RAM which is faster and much more than 512MB
GDDR3 RAM on Xbox 360. It's a better DVD player than my Xbox 360 slim console, can play Blu-ray movies, USB 3.0, more than adequate ventilation architecture (big fan, large vent slots). Kinect is awesomeness (voice chat, video chat, games like Zoo Tycoon Kinect
Sports Rivals, voice commands, gestures, QR codes, it looks cool, good vent slots on top of it I think they learned from the ventilation mistakes from early Xbox 360 console models). They do need to improve the software and UI a bit though. Windows 10 and
Directx12 are coming out soon though.

 

I have all three systems and have no hardware issues with any. all 3 are rock solid compared to the 360.

 

Without a doubt it's more reliable than the 360 ever was. I still do not like the build quality of the X1 controller though, I like the comfort and how it performs, I just hate the cheap feel. I thought I'd get used to it over the months since I last replied
in this thread but it still bugs me.
