X1 Reliability is Rock Solid

I can add to this discussion because I own a X1. I don't add my opinions on Toyota forums because I own (and always will) GMC.... and I don't base my information on the internet...

bf4 rock solid. Ghosts on x1 30fps and 720p, the Infinity Ward director said x1 couldn't handle more. 1080p on ps4. 60fps, but occasionally racing to 90fps which appears to stutter on 60hz tvs. An error from infinity ward.

 

Anyone else agree???

The failure rate or problem rate for both systems is very low compared to the number of users which is good. It sucks for anyone to have their console break regardless of which manufacture it is.

The X1 controller though is cheap. If I look at the controller where the headset plugs in I can see the circuitboard because the metal part pushed back. It also fell apart at the seams when playing KI3.

 

Pity they put a terrible blu ray drive in the thing.... At first it occasionally didn't recognise a disc.... Now it won't read anything... I'd send it for repair but that will mean at least two weeks without it...

 

Ahhh, I love hearing about how much people are enjoying their Xbox. And how refreshing to see someone else who loves the look of it. Yep, problems have been pretty minimal, and I put it down to excellent engineering. The game library is great, the games
to come look great, the reliability of Xbox Live is still great... Just a great console full stop. Proud to have it. Proud to be one of the first group to get one as well. My first ever day one console.

 

I agree with brandiesel about the controller, it is very cheap feeling. They really should of done the same as the 360 and stuck some screws in the thing, at the moment it feel like it could split open in your hand's. Apart from that I'm happy. Now the PS4
I can't comment on........maybe in a year or 2 when I own one.

 

@Fatal. I like how it looks. Once you have it sat with a Sky HD box it really doesn't look big and ugly like people try and make it out to be.

 

Well to be fair the Sky box is an absolute tank as well lol

*gasp* I told a lie! My Nintendo Wii was the first console I bought day one. Whoops.

 

Both consoles are massed produced in China. Both have a very low failure rate. Much lower than the last gen.

Everybody wins.

In my experience, I've had three One's in the family that have been on/in stand-by since day one. The only issue was one of the Kinect units just died about two days in. Expedited shipping and I had the replacement in 48 hours.

Basically, the consoles have only been off to pull them from their homes and vacuum the vents on both the console and the PSU. It seems as though these machines are built for the long-haul, with a little bit of TLC.

 

That's funny, I could have swore comparison threads were against the rules here... Obviously that only matters if someone is saying something negative about the Xbox One though. Great to see the selective moderation continue around here!
