    I was watching TV and out of no where, it starts making this humming noise. I turned my system off and then on again. seems to be all the time. anyone else having this issue??

    Hey there Assassin! What exactly do you mean by humming? There is a fan built in to the power supply that is supposed to make a little noise while it's running. If this noise is excessively load or irregular, I would suggest seeking a replacement on our
    repair site (support.xbox.com/.../repair-process). Let me know, thanks!

    Hi

    The power supply for the Xbox One has a fan in it and it does require positioning to allow proper ventilation. If the power supply is excessively noisy you will need to request a repair/replacement from Microsoft.

    Hi OP-

    The console's power supply (PSU) has a small cooling fan built into it- this is what you are hearing. If your Xbox One is turned on, you may be able to hear a slight audible humming sound coming from the PSU due to the fan. If you have your Xbox One configured
    to the "Instant On" power mode, the PSU fan will remain on, which explains your issue. If the room you're in is quiet enough you can definitely hear it.

    As gds pointed out in the post above mine- if it gets REALLY loud you have a problem. Check the link that he posted.

    Hello

    Your power supply should not be making any noise at all!! So if it is I strongly recommend contacting technical support.

    Also the loudest noise your Xbox should make is when the disc spins round to load a game, other than that it should have a low unnoticeable hum to it.

    but what about the noise for the power supply that ive had that microsoft said is considered normal (it makes a slight hum on dashboard and netflix) and what about the fan increase when the plug and charge kit is in when the console is turned off?

    Hello,

    You should make sure that the power supply is plugged into a wall outlet and not a power strip. The power supply should have a bit of hot air being pushed out from the front and back but you shouldn't hear any fan or humming noise at all.

    And you shouldn't be worried about anything as long as your console is running fine.
