    X1 + Keyboard Support Questions


    Hi everyone,

    Looking to pick up an X1 this holiday and wanted to clarify a few things about keyboard support.

    1. The X1 does support wireless USB keyboards, right?

    2. When browsing Internet Explorer, can you use the keyboard to type in addresses, searches, etc.?

    3. And, when using the Youtube app, can you use the keyboard to type in your searches?

    4. Also, in addition to keyboard support, does the X1 also support trackpad/mouse input for navigation ( such as on Internet Explorer )? some keyboards have built in trackpads.

    USB Keyboard Support Question

    Wireless USB keyboard will just come with a USB stick you plug into the Xbox One which is how it talks to the keyboard. You should be fine, worst case scenario take the keyboard back to the store, but I doubt you'll have a problem as they're all pretty universal
    at this point.

    1. Only if the usb dongle provides legacy USB support.

    2. Yes

    3. Yes

    4. Unfortunatley I dont think so.

    But if you own a tablet or smartphone you can aso use the smartglass app to do the typng and remote work with the one, too. Especially using youtube is very cool as you use the smartphone/tablet app to search and start videos and then have them displayed
    on the One.

    hey, thanks!

    I have a wireless USB keyboard that worked with my 360. so, I'm assuming it will work fine with the X1?

    If it worked with the 360 I'd suppose it should work with the one, too.
