    X1 Day One Remote Bumper not Working


    Hey all, I will cut to the chase with this one and say I will not be using support to fix this problem as I am not willing to sit down weeks without being able to play my console right after I made several new Christmas game purchases.

    I have enjoyed my remote, and have never had an issue with my first 2 gen of Xbox products however I knew right away this very flexy Day One 2013 remote would bite me in the rear end. The last week or two I have noticed my RIGHT is failing to respond periodically
    and I can feel it almost feels loose in its socket. However this is not the real problem here.

    This AM I go to play and suddenly, my RIGHT bumper has now completely stopped functioning and I cannot physically feel the bumper contacting anything when it rocks. It just sits there dead.

    Now after watching the online repair videos to me it seems as if I will not be able to repair without a full disassemble including soldering. I see this is unfortunately a VERY common issue online especially with us early adopters.

    So my real question is, has anybody out there managed to fix this without any major work?

    I hope this is not violating any forum regs as I don't mean to do so. I just want to get back to playing my games immediately .

    BOTH of my Xbox Ones are still doing fine. I've never replaced a controller even!

    My 4 day old X1 console is working just fine.

    Just thought I would bump your thread above mine, after all. It's because of my thread that this one came into being. So I wouldn't want you guys/gals to feel left out! X1 Day One Remote Bumper not Working ;)

    How to turn off One Guide???

    TBH I never ever use the one guide... my cable box remote still function like it was not plugged into the X1, even though it is... I am guessing your X1 remote brings up the one guide huh

    A lot more expensive than the MS remote, but it has decent amount of features. I bought one about three years ago and it works great. It was even updated pretty quickly after the X1 launch to control pretty much everything you
    need on the X1. The best feature for me is to remove several remotes hanging around. It can control up to 5 devices and you can program one button functions to turn on all your devices. It even has an eject button for the X1.

    TBH I never ever use the one guide... my cable box remote still function like it was not plugged into the X1, even though it is... I am guessing your X1 remote brings up the one guide huh

    X1 is designed to be on pretty much all day lol... mine rarely gets warm and its on all day.. you say "xbox on" to turn it on and than you can either use the voice commands or you can just use your cable remote it will still work for those who dont know
    how to use the voice commands or X1 controller in you house.

    I know plenty of people already know this, the bumpers on the X1 are quite different to the 360 and work better if pressed on the edge diagonally, if you press straight down on them they don't work so well.
