X1 controllers are barely held together

^^ Even the Kinect lovers know that the motion controls suck!!

 

I guess MS must have manufacture two different X1 controllers, one that falls apart and one that doesn't. I guess I got lucky because all three of mine are great, no problems here.

 

Mine are as tight and solid as the day I got them

 

When I 1st picked up an XB1 controller, I could feel the cheapness of it, but that has since translated to a feeling of comfort, which is quite odd... I've dropped my controller numerous times onto a hard tile floor and it still works rather well.

 

I have a Day One controller and a Titanfall controller. Neither feel flimsy. Both feel light. None of the panels on my controllers have come away from the main controller body.

 

I do agree with the fact the 360 ones seem more durable and my day one controller is a bit wonky .

Left thumbstick drifts all the time!

The other 2 i have been dropped and threw around a bit but still work fine .

 

The controllers are junk. I think they will get better with time. My day one controller broke the first night I had it. My 2nd controller had a wonky bumper. I never had an issue with any of my 360 controllers. My original white 360 controller lasted
for years.

The bumpers are really bad. I took the control pad out of my replacement console back to Game because of a dull/sticking left bumper, and the replacement was exactly the same. The worst part about it though is that the Game employee tried to pass it off
as being by design, lol. Fortunately they still had the control pad I had with the previous console (which was originally a replacement control pad for a faulty left bumper, lol) in the back so I just got them to give me that and promptly showed him how much
of an idiot he was when I showed him how the left bumper should feel.

 

DO NOT Glue the side panels on the controller people.

If you're having trouble with loose side panels, or with popping thumbsticks. Contact MS Support.

Tip of the day: Or failing that, for a better than New feel in the palm of your hands. A Bicycle tube cut just so, then turned inside out, (Smooth, and better looking on the inside) and stretched over the loose side panels
may suffice.

PS. Tubes are less than $5.00 NEW almost anywhere you care to look and defective tubes can be had for FREE at Bicycle shops. And the narrower the Tube the better the fit.

 

I haven't had any issues yet, the plastic is thinner than the 360 controllers, and I can feel the plastic flex on the X1 controllers, but it hasn't bothered me yet. The dogs have pushed it off the couch onto the hardwood floors a few times, but the panels
haven't come off yet.

I'm more concerned about how the thumb sticks will wear in a few years... Or sooner.

Doing good so far...Day One controller, second controller, Titanfall controller. They've survived me, my kids, and my kids' friends.

I do agree that the 360 controllers were rock-solid, though. Best controller ever made, imo...

 

The only issue I've had with my Xbox One controllers is that 1 of the 2 of them has a sticky A button that's not as responsive as the other face buttons.

 

Button wide, My controller has been ok up to now. Within the first month of getting the X1, the RT had a strange feeling to it but that passed and its been fine since.
