    X1 Controller Mic Port Issue?

Up until about an hour before this post, my Microsoft stereo headset/adapter has been working fine with no issues. my controller shut off due to inactivity whilst i was making food, but when i came back to it, my controller wasn't picking up the adapter
and/or headset. I believe it to be a controller issue as I tried the standard chat headset and the same thing is happening; I plug the headset in and it isn't registering. The mute button doesn't light up when pressed, and there's no beeping after numerous
    volume changes.

I've tried turning the controller off/on, hard-resetting the xbox and everything else i can think of. Has anyone else ran into this issue and found a solution or do I need a replacement controller?

    :)

ok so recently i was using my controller like always then the mic cut out so i tried moving the mic adapter around but that didnt work so i plugged it into my other controller and it worked fine so i figured well it must be the controller not the adapter
and sense i cant get a new controller right now i figured id come here so does anybody have any suggestions of what i should do?

Return the controller if it is still under warranty. More than likely it is the Connection in the controller.

If its not under warranty, you can still pay a fee in order to get it replaced or fixed, or take it to a local repair facility.

Another alternative if you feel safe doing so (and this will indeed void the warranty if their is one, so proceed at your own risk), you could try and fix the problem yourself, which may be simple as something came loose, or possiblity something broke.

    X1 Controller Mic Port Issue?

Interesting, by hard reset you mean you have unplugged your console and plugged it back in (leaving the adapter and mic plugged in) and it still isn't registering?

Also, you are trying to update the controller with the headset plugged in via usb?

Microphone send ugly noise all the time

My mic usually has the same problem, but my Xbox Controller's mic port is causing the problem. Either the controller mic port could be their issue, the mic plug-in cord, or the mic in general. Feedback has also had issues with constant screeches.

Mic on new controllers with 3.5mm built in Audio port

    Yes, both controllers fully updated.

Mic is at2020usb+, headphones are the apple earbuds, phone is the Nexus 5.

I'm using the audio out port on the mic and connecting that to the mic port of the splitter, and the headphones to the headphones port of the splitter, and the combo port to the controllers.

Banned from multiplayer - I did nothing wrong!

Try checking the connection of your mic input/output on the controller. My immediate thought is that, if you do not have a mic plugged in but are still being reported for communication issues, then there might still be an issue where your controller is causing some sort of feedback in the chat.

This could be caused by a damaged microphone port on your controller. Try using a different controller or gently cleaning out the microphone port to check for obstruction.

    Headset Problems!!

Try pushing the Dashbord button. Go to Chat. In there you can toggle the Kinect Mic on/off. Try turning off the Kinect Mic to see what that does for you. Also if you or your friend have an extra controller you can try one of them to see if the controller
    itself is the problem.

The other possiblilty is that the mic-port contacts in the controllers have lost their "springy" action. A loose connection will cause communication failure. If you and your friend use the mics a lot and this issue is very recent that could be the cause.
It had happened to me and I fixed it now it's fine.

    Steps to Fixing Mic-Port Problems:

1.) Remove screws that hold the controller together. A special type of small Screwdriver may be required.

2.) Once the cover is removed locate the mic port on controller.

3.) The Mic port will have 2 very small metal tabs. 1 on top & 1 on the side. VERY CAREFULLY bend the tabs inward using a small pointed tool. Using the mic jack as a type of gauge.

4.) Reassymble the controller and test to see if it helped.
