X1 Bumper Buttons and GTA V

Is anyone else bothered by the LB and RB buttons on the xbox one controller, especially for GTAV?

Firstly, they are too loud and clicky. I tried the "Standard FPS 2" button layout in GTA V's control settings, which remaps the jog/sprint command from the "A" button to the Right Bumper button (RB), but I found that rapidly tapping RB to sprint was far
too loud and annoying to keep those settings.

Aside from producing an annoyingly loud click, the bumper buttons are also rather stiff, making them somewhat difficult to press. That stiffness hadn't really bothered me in the other games I have played on X1 (CoD:AW, Halo, Forza), but when I use them to
control the rudder of flying vehicles in GTA V, I find the stiffness to impede my flying abilities a bit (or at least makes me feel like I have less touch when it comes to steering with the rudder).

Just got the new xbox one controller from UPS today with 3.5mm jack

Glad the bumpers are better but why would you want a bumper to make a click sound? Heard a GTA V player the other day complaining about the clicking bumpers when he used them to sprint long distances in GTA V. Why not bumpers that make no sound?

 

Is There Any Specific reason?

I will stay for GTA V and Fable Anniversay. Everythinng else will be X1

 

Yes I dont like the bumpers either. I couldnt deal with the new setup and changed the duck to RB and put sprint and hand brake on A button. I like it much better.

 

well at least im not the only one who noticed the stiffness of the xbox one controller. I have noticed this the day I used it. playing forza 5 on it with the clutch was difficult because of how hard the button is to press. felt like I was about to get Arthritis
playing with that thing.

 

Yes, the stiffness is a problem for me too. I haven't had to shift in Forza yet (just started playing it) but it is a pain using them in GTA V, specifically when driving or flying.



the above video tells you how you are supposed to use the bumper buttons so that they are easier to press, but that only works when you use you only use your index (pointer) fingers to control both the triggers and bumpers. That doesn't work for situations
like driving or flying in GTA because those situations require you to use you middle fingers on the triggers and index fingers on the bumpers so that you can, for example, accelerate the car with RT while simultaneously shooting with the RB button.

If I used the bumper buttons as described in the video I would have to choose between pressing down the gas pedal or shooting, or between throttling up a flying vehicle's engine with RT and steering its rudder with RB.
