    X1 air flow

So I just relocated my X1.... junior is fascinated with the glowing X on the front side and thinks it's fun to press it repeatedly (lol..... I do put an end to his shenanigans asap!)... My X1 is placed in the middle shelf of a glass shelf unit. It is
opened on both sides, rear and front. There is another shelf above my X1. I have about a finger width of gap between the top of the X1 and the shelf. By no means is the X1 top completely blocked, but is a finger width gap adequate breathing for a X1?

    :)

    Enough consoles to go around?

I would be more worried about the PS4, reports from people say the air flow from the X1 is just slightly warm.

  3. Laying Flat or standing Up?

I would also recommend keeping in mind air flow. If you get better air flow in your set-up with it standing up, use it that way.

    X1 air flow

if there is nothing blocking the sides, front and back it should be fine, but run it for a while and check it to make sure.

More than anything you need the hot air from the top vent to disperse properly, just be sure your X1 isn't sucking that hot air back into it's self.

Sounds like it needs more room. A finger width gap could be trapping hot air in that area. But see what happens and try running a fan directly in that area if you hear the Xbox fan going.

  7. I would say that is not enough room. It's just going to blow back on itself. It will also heat up the entire area around it.
