X turning off on start-up screen

Hi, the past two times I've switched my X on it has turned itself off during the start-up process (where it shows you the picture of a cpu or something).

When I turn it on again it starts properly. I've now put the console to instant on mode where it seems fine.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. This is my second X after my first was faulty & I'm feeling really uneasy about the whole thing

I've had my Xbox one X since December and on the odd accession when I power up it will do the intro screen then bleep and shut down. Some times it will do it a couple of times before staying on and others might just be the once, its not all the time. I have
never had it shut down while playing only ever at start up.

Anyone else had this.

I’ve been having the same issue for the last couple of months.

My Xbox One X console is not in the Insiders program (afaik).

It shutdowns almost every time I try to wake it up after turning it off normally with a controller a day earlier.

 

did u send your Xbox one x back to Microsoft or replace it at the shop ?

I have the exact same problem. When it first start it immediately shuts down like 2 seconds into the startup video. When I turn it back on again it will run normally for hours though. I have not experienced any crashes or random shutdowns, not even during
prolongued sessions. So I don't knowwhat to make of it. Right now I believe it may be the initial power surge as I also have my 55'' 4K TV connected to the same 3way power connector (out of neccessity as I only have one plug where my TV rack is located).

So maybe both TV and xbox one x initially draw too much power but once the power flows it's just fine? It's just an educated guess without any way of testin as I don't have a bazillion power connectors right next to each other to test this theory. Maybe
someone from Microsoft care to comment? I mean in all honesty I have my doubts about that theory as I have quite a decent PC (titan x pascal, 8core i7 and a 2000W power supply) + peripherals attached to an 8way power connector... and I have never experienced
power shortages or random shutdowns. I doubt the xbox one x and TV combined draw more power than my PC rig. Maybe someone from Microsoft cares to answer? I see this thread is 13 days old already.

I would also like to add that I was very spectical about jumping on the xbox one x bandwagon just yet as they were so many people writing that they had needed to replace their console within 2 weeks due to various issues. But I decided to tak the plunge.
Yet now I wonder if I see the first signs of console breakdown myself...

 

What`s this start-up video you are talking about?

When I turn my X on I get a screen that says "Hello", then the green signing in circle, then straight to the home screen.

 

It's some fancy looking vid raidly zooming in on a computer chip with a 4K stamp on it. Afterwards it's just the greenish Xbox One bootup screen. But like the OP wrote switching to "instant on" may have solved the issue. Won't be able to check until after
New Year though if this was a one-time thing or if it won't lose power on initial startup anymore for good.

Just to clarify: the console never crashed during gameplay / streaming. It only did so upon first booting it up after having had turned it off for quite some time. The console would not turn itself off when instantly turning it back on. Well, hopefully it's
gone now. MS seems eager to not read their own forums.
