Discus and support x button seems to activate B button only on xbox profile rename interface screen in XBoX on Windows to solve the problem; When on my xbox and go to my profile, and change my xbox gamertag name, if I press x button to remove a letter I typed, instead it acts as a B button...     x button seems to activate B button only on xbox profile rename interface screen


    When on my xbox and go to my profile, and change my xbox gamertag name, if I press x button to remove a letter I typed, instead it acts as a B button and brings me out of the xbox profile settings interface screen.

    I have tried updating my controller, swapping controllers, and resetting my xbox and wiping everything off, It doesn't help..

    Also restored my xbox controllers to default, through the app, which has not helped me.

    In a game, if i press the x button, it only activates the x button. so in my opinion because this only happens on the xbox profile rename settings screen, it is a bug introduced somehow to xbox series s consoles.

    I am not an xbox insider, and nothing is "Crashing" so I can't report this bug.

    Hi there Viper welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I suggest the following:

    1. Turn off your Xbox using the power button on the console.

    2. Once your Xbox has completely powered down, unplug the power cord from the back of the console. Don't simply unplug the cord from the wall's electrical socket — it must be disconnected from your Xbox.

    3. Wait for 5 minutes, and then reconnect the power cord to both the Xbox console and the electrical socket.

    4. Let another minute pass.

    Hi thanks for the reply, I have tried this. It doesn't make any difference for the issue.

    What did you name your enchanted weapons and armor?

    I thought it was actually the "Y" button. Because "X" is to enchant the item. Y button renames it.

    Just log in to the Xbox 360 interface with the account that has an active Gold subscription. Follow these steps:

    Enter the game, press the smaller buttons on the controller at the same time (The accessibility button and the Start button) and the Xbox 360 interface will open, there download the profile of the account you use on Xbox One.

    I cant login with backwards compatible games

    Enter the game, press the smallest buttons on the controller at the same time (Accessibility and Start), this will open the Xbox 360 interface, log out by pressing X.

    That done, restart the game and go to the Xbox 360 interface, choose Download Profile and download your profile again.
