X button not working

Hi, the x button is not working what are the chances it's the Xbox and not the controller?

If you have not already done so can you please try a console restart to see if this helps with the problem. To restart the console press and hold the power button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds and once the console has powered off remove the
power cable from the wall outlet for a couple of minutes, whilst waiting I would also remove the battery from the controller then try powering everything back up and see if this helps with the issue.

If this does not help if possible can you try connecting the controller to another Xbox One or Windows 10 PC to see what happens.

My Xbox one controller's X button does not work anymore. It is not stuck or anything it just isnt responding when i push it. I really dont want to have to buy a new controller, i dont have that money right now so if there is a way to fix it that would be
wonderful

 

I know how you feel, my A button and Right trigger act like its Down on the Dpad. Happens in and out of games. Bought a new controller and it still happens.

Any mechanical issues with a controller is going to have to be a repair. You can take the controller to a Microsoft store in your area if it's in warranty and they will replace it for you for free. You can also send it in for replacement at
http://myservice.xbox.com/ You will need your controller serial number/Product ID and will need to register it.
