X box shuts off during game

Every time I attempt to play Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zombies my Xbox Series X will randomly shut off. After it turns back on, I get an overheat message. The Xbox is in a very well ventilated area, has all of its vents exposed (it’s positioned on its side) and it is only ever so slightly warm to the touch. I’ve seen tons of the same issue while looking into it but no real solution?

Hi, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

If you're getting an overheating prompt it may mean that there is an issue with the ventilation but you've mentioned that it is in a well-ventilated area so that should be okay.

As part of the troubleshooting steps, have you tried to switch the position of the Xbox Series X console? You may check this link for the detailed steps:

Also, is this happening with just this game? If yes, it can be a corrupted file with the game itself. Kindly uninstall and reinstall the zombie packs.

If that all didn't work, resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the last resort. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

Well that really depends, are you able to turn it back on? Has this happened before? Can you give me more information?

Here are some possibilities:

The Auto-Off setting could be enabled, try to disable it.

The console was too hot, wait for it to cool down.

Might be a problem with the power supply.

Which Xbox 360 do you have? The original, the S, or the E?

your truck doesn't provide enough power. Even if it's rated for 400 W, no power supply provides what it's actually rated for. Example computer power supplies are considered to be excellent at 80% efficiency

Do you need at least six or 700 W to reliably run a series X. I recommend you try for the series S with lower power consumption that in something you could fit in the truck will probably do the job just fine

Dont use wireless. Do hardwired. If you are hardwired then do a hard system restart by holding the X button on the x box console, not the x on the controller. Hold it down until your system shuts off. This bypasses sleep mode and actually turns the x box
off. Most problems in GTA can be fixed using this method.
