X Box One stopped powering TV on and off

My X Box One recently stopped turning my TV on and off with the console. I have a connect attached, but I have always left it turned off unless I am actively using it., so I have never had volume or channel control through the X Box, but until recently,
turning on the X Box would turn on the TV, and turning off the X Box would turn off the TV. Any ideas on how to get that working again?

used to have now tv app in x box one . either x box or now tv up dated

now tv gone tried reinstalling but get message installation stopped and error code

looked for error code on line doesnt recognise it

can anyone help please

TV app stopped working after few days?

I have a Direct TV HD DVR box. The TV app after working great since the launch has stopped getting a signal through. It still turns on and off the DVR and TV both, but still no TV plays through, just a pic of the TV app? Please help. I tried powering
off everything. I checked all the connections and still nothing... Please help as getting tired of hearing "You should of bought a Playstation" from everyone.

 

Hi Electric Pi,

The Kinect does all the TV controls for the Xbox. If you're having issues turning the TV on and off with Xbox power, then I would suggest making sure the Kinect sensor is powered on, the front is clean, and try re-positioning the kinect.

As I said in my post, I have been able to have the TV turn on and off with the console in the past *without* using the connect. I am not trying to control volume or channel, just turn the TV on and off. This has worked in the past with the connect powered
off.

this link for troubleshooting TV controls. Post back if these do not resolve your issue. Note that without the Kinect the only way to control your TV is with an
IR blaster for Xbox One. This includes powering the TV off and on.

 

That link is for trouble with the OneGuide app. I am not trying to use the OneGuide app. I am trying to use the seemingly undocumented feature that has long allowed my X Box to turn on the TV without using the connect or any other Infrared emitter. Anyway,
I did a hard reset with the HDMI cable unplugged, then plugged in the HDMI cable after powering on the X Box, and that did the trick; my X Box turns the TV on and off again *without* using the connect or any other IR device

 

I did not need help with the OneGuide. As I said, I was not trying to use IR control of the TV. I did a hard reset with the HDMI cable unplugged, and then plugged in the HDMI cable after turning on the X Box (not sure if a hard reset alone would have solved
it), and I am now enjoying my X Box turning on and off my TV *without* using the connect or any other IR emitter.

 

A hard reset with the HDMI cable unplugged did the trick, I am now back to having my X Box One turn my TV on and off *without* connect or any other IR emitter.
