    X Box one Series X turns on briefly, clicks once, and then turns off


    When I initially setup my X Box one Series X, everything went well. Load some games, played them. No problem.

    Today, different all together. Went to power unit up, and it would
    not turn on at all. Hit the button and unit was silent, did not light up, nothing. Reseated the plug, nothing; tried another outlet (known good), nothing; tried another Xbox Series X power cord, no change; tried standing it remotely with the remote,
    nothing. Dead silent. Reseated the power cable again, nothing. Very disappointing to say the least. Wasted a few hours trying that I could have enjoying my new Xbox Series X I had been waiting months on.

    Packaged it up to send out under warranty. After reading instructions to only send out console, decided to give it another whirl. Plugged in, initially same issues. Tried holding the button down, tried in different positions. Suddenly, button illuminated
    for a second, it clicked, and unit shutdown. Tried multiple more times, nothing seems to get anything to fire up. Noticed that if you hit the button for the Blue Ray, it illuminates the power button briefly as well.

    Each time power button is pushed, button illuminates, it clicks once, makes a sound like something is trying to spin up (Maybe bluray player or HD but it has a SSD), then immediately shuts off. This all happens in about 1 - 2 seconds of time. Tried various
    power outlets with same issues. I like Xbox one and really looked forward to this new one. Was super excited. Now just a lot of disappointment and frustration especially as I have to wait 2 or more weeks for a fix on essentially a brand new unit.


    Is this a known issue? Seems like I have read that several people have seen this issue or similar issues. Is this a faulty PS? Is the PS properly rated for the XBox one Series X? As I expect I am not the only one who is seeing this issues, can
    you please provide the root cause for this issue and the fix that Microsoft is taking on this issue to expedite resolutions on people who are seeing this and then on ones coming out of the factory?

    I just recieved my new series x and it will not turn off my TV. I have followed procedures to have it set up, it worked with my one s just fine.

    Yes I did why would my one s work and the series x not work??? Why did it turn it off once and not again? Turns it on just fine!

    Connection problems

    Reset your modem and do a hard reset of x box one by holding the lit up x button on the console not the controller. Hold it until the box turns off. This should help you all.

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that your console is turning off mid-game.

    Considering how you have already sent up your console for a repair, there is a chance that the environment in which you have it in could be source of your console shutting off.

    I recommend that you take a look at the article that covers
    troubleshooting Xbox One unexpectedly turning off     and see if some of these troubleshooting techniques work for you!

    This problem happened with me yesterday. let me explain how I got through it..... I turned off the following ( X-Box 360, Cable Modem, Router) All three need to be shut off as I tried one at a time with no avail... After turning them off wait about 20-30
    minutes. Turn on the Cable modem first. Wait 1 minute. Turn on Router, wait 1 minute and turn on X Box 360.. My system has worked perfectly ever since...:)
