    X BOX ONE S - MUTED MIC


    Hi, My Son has an x-box one s and the mic is muted and is showing on screen that it is muted and we cannot resolve this issue. We have tried everything in support including a new headset which uses the USB port on the console. This has only occurred after
    a software update ? Please advise

    Hey Jon,

    Thank you for reaching out. You mentioned this started after a software update; I want you to try performing a

    factory reset     while keeping your games and apps.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select System.
    5. Select Console info & updates.
    6. Select Reset console.

    Apparently there has been a new software update which has made all non xbox one headsets non compatible. I have been told that I need to buy an adapter and this should solve the issue!

    We have the exact same issue got the xbox at christmas and its only kidt dtarted to happen these past few days. Its my sons xbox and its really wonding me up we have tried other controllers and headsets up its still not working.
    It's so frustrating! It's also my son's xbox. I've Googled it and I've seen it could be some kind of bug on the xbox which is apparently a common problem which Microsoft are aware of. I am just on hold to support now so I will let you know if I have any
    joy! I'm not holding out much hope though!
