X-Box One S Game Updates Too Large

Microsoft isn't responsible for all updates. They are from the developers of the game and most times are necessary as bugs get fixed, new content, etc. We recommend to install the complete update first before playing. Also if you cancel the update there
is a big chance it will uninstall the game too as to stop the game from being corrupt when you install the update again.

As games advance their size keeps growing. The 500GB model for the XBox is almost too small these days, honestly I would say grab yourself a 4TB external HDD with its own power supply, youll never have a storage problem again!

The update size of games is up to the developer. They improve the game and then send the update to Xbox to release it for the gamers to update their games.

well to answer your question about the updates: Depending on when you get the game you will be installing updates from the first one to present all rolled into one.

That would be why Halo 5 is so big. Some updates are bigger and some updates are small. Believe me when it comes to these updates yeah it can be a pain but its well worth it.

You should be able to play it offline without the update.
